Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family,

Psalm 63:6-8 "When I remember You on my bed, I meditate on You in the night watches. 7 Because You have been my help, therefore in the shadow of Your wings I will rejoice. 8 My soul follows close behind You; Your right hand upholds me." I don't know about you, but often when I remember God when I am in bed it is because I am troubled and cannot sleep. Note the intimacy that results from these sleepless encounters.

Please pray for healing for Roger F. He is grandfather of TBS students and has melanoma. He has various scans scheduled next week which will help determine his treatments. Also pray for Russ H. Only one other person, besides Lin and I, has been a member at TBC longer than Russ. Russ is strengthening from congestive heart failure and would like to return home soon.

Karrie M brings us this praise: "Liam is doing so much better! They could not find a cause, so they are guessing his troubles are related to his mother’s milk supply. They have him back on track, and he has gained 2 pounds since being in the hospital. He has a blood clot in his leg from a Pic line, but once they get it dissolved, they will let him go home. Hoping for Wednesday. Thanks for praying!"

Tonight at 6:30 p.m. begins another year of Awana at Trinity Baptist Church. I believe this will be our 33rd year! We have clubs for 2-year-olds through high school. We are open to all. There are fees for uniforms, books, and dues. Registration tonight will begin at 6:00 p.m. We are looking forward to another year of Bible memory, singing, challenging discipleship, and great game times.

Tonight, September 2nd, our Wednesday adult Bible study moves back to the parsonage for the Awana year. The sidewalk across from the church entrance leads to the Bible study. Van F will be leading the study this fall from a book called "Name Above All Names." This will be an enriching study. The study begins at 6:45 p.m.

This coming Saturday is Men's Prayer Breakfast. Because of the 4th of July and Men's Retreat it has been 3 months since we have enjoyed this time of fellowship and prayer. We meet to eat in the church basement at 8:00 a.m. We share requests and pray. We are done before 9:30 a.m. If you are planning to come, please let me know or sign up tonight at the MOT.

Sunday is Sunday School Promotion Sunday. About half of our young people will go to new Sunday School classes. The adults will begin a new series. I am going to lead a study from the book of Isaiah. I hope to do a history of the book and get through chapter 1 this week.

Sunday is also Lord's Table Day. I am going to be preaching from 1st Corinthians 11:17-34 with a title of "This Do in Remembrance of Me." Pastor Charlie is our Sunday evening preacher. He has begun a walk through 2nd Corinthians.

This week is our 3rd week of the TBS school year. Students and teachers are looking forward to the 3-day weekend!

School, Awana, soccer, holidays, and trying to get done everything before winter. Fall is a busy time of year. Make sure Christ is #1 in schedule and your mind. May you draw closer to Christ. That's where He wants you!

Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family,

Psalm 55:12 "Cast your burden on the Lord, and He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved." Cast - throw with abandon. When you cast something, you don't want it back. Do we have burdens? You bet. Will you harbor and keep your burden today or throw it on the Lord?

The Mayes have sent me the following urgent prayer request: "Ask the church to pray for my nephews seven month old little boy, Liam. He is in ICU right now with dangerously low sodium levels. Over the last four months he has lost weight instead of gaining. As of now they are unsure of the cause. (parents names are Taylor and Faith) Thanks, Karrie

Tomorrow, Saturday, August 29, we have our semi-annual CPR/AED training. This is required for our school/church staff and we have invited those interested to join us. If you signed up, be here in the morning. The class runs from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. with lunch provided by the church.

Pastor Shaefffer will finish his work in Colossians on Sunday morning. I will finish 1 Thessalonians during the adult Sunday School.

Sunday is our End-of-Summer Church Picnic. I'll have water, lemonade, serving utensils, plates, napkins, and plasticware at McDermott Park pavilion by 12:30 p.m. We will pray and begin eating at that time. Everyone is welcome. Please bring as you would for a good potluck. Bring enough for your family and a little more. We have the pavilion so there is rain shelter and tables. There are public bathrooms. A policy has been published in the bulletin. The biggest thing to remember is that every family needs to keep track of their own children and their safety. There are sign-ups on the MOT for doubles corn hole and 4-man volleyball tournaments. Lawn chairs and your favorite lawn games are encouraged. Come have a great meal and fellowship with the church family. We will have no evening service this week.

Many of our school and church young people are playing soccer and have their first home games on Tuesday on fields 3 & 5 - middle school at 5:00 p.m. and varsity at 5:30 p.m. This is great entertainment. Come and encourage our young people.

Awana begins this Wednesday, September 2nd at 6:30 p.m. Pray that God gives us a year with much edification and many salvations. This means the adult Bible study moves to the parsonage at 6:45 p.m. Van F will be leading a study on "Name Above All Names."

Pray for our country and the fall elections. Inform yourself concerning the proposed amendment to the Wisconsin Constitution.

"Only one life, twill soon be past. Only what's done for Christ will last."

Embracing Truth. Equipping Saints.
