On Commitment to the Local Church - Pastor Shaeffer

06/03/2026

Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family,

Psalm 106:1-3 "Praise the Lord! Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever! 2 Who can utter the mighty deeds of the Lord, or declare all his praise? 3 Blessed are they who observe justice, who do righteousness at all times!"

Praise the Lord for a good Lord's Day. I pray your spirit was challenged and warmed.

Monday, I hosted the board of the Wisconsin Fellowship of Baptist Churches at the parsonage. We approved a constitutional amendment that will reinforce our fellowship's determination to pursue Baptist distinctives. We also approved speakers for the Pastors' and Wives' Fellowship and the Annual meeting in 2027.

Please pray for Pat H. She has two doctors' appointments today. Her heart rate has been managed by medications this week. Marie M went into the hospital yesterday severely dehydrated. Continue to pray for bones to heal for Jean J and Suzanne G. Patty A is scheduled to have back surgery this Friday. Bev G is receiving chemo. Pray that the swelling in her legs would go away.

Pray for visas for our missionaries: Sergio Zamora to NYC and the Hermans to Ireland.

Pray for safety and spiritual growth as I host a trip to Jordan and Israel beginning Saturday, June 6th and returning on Wednesday, June 17th.

This Sunday morning, June 7, is Lord's Table. Pastor Charlie is beginning a 4 week series from Deuteronomy. Pastor Shaeffer is continuing his series driven by the WFBC resolutions in adult Sunday School. The topic this week is "Commitment to the Local Church." Pastor Shaeffer will continue his series in Joshua on Sunday evening at 6:30 p.m. Pray for Jeremy and Charlie with the extra teaching load they will have this month in addition to their normal responsibilities.

A summer ladies' Bible study begins tomorrow, Thursday, June 4 at 9:00 a.m. They will meet at the parsonage/church.

We should be thankful for all things. In June, I revel in the sunshine, blooming flowers, and warmer temperatures. These physical, temporal things should not be taken for granted. God is giver of these things too. We pray for healing. We pray for comfort in loss. We pray for relationships. While embracing the truth of living in this broken world, let's not forget to thank God for that which is pleasant.

Embracing Truth. Equipping Saints.

Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family,

Psalm 102:1-2 "Hear my prayer, O Lord, and let my cry come to You. 2 Do not hide Your face from me in the day of my trouble; Incline Your ear to me;
in the day that I call, answer me speedily." I know I am often self-orientated when I pray. But I am not alone in this. The psalmist cries out to God for immediate relief. May this be our first thought when we are in trouble.

Please pray for Pat H. She is having a heart ablation procedure this morning. She has suffered with an extremely high heart rate since Friday. Pray for skilled work by the doctor and sure healing for Pat. Pray for strength for Cecil as he waits.

Jeremy is home. He was released yesterday. He is sore from his experience and intends to be very careful about what he eats. It is assumed that at some point his gall bladder will be removed. Thank God for answers and healing.

Suzanne is at Edenbrook here in Fond du Lac for rehab. Pray for strength that she mightr be able to return home. Continue to pray for pain relief for Jean W. Pray for healing for Jean J. Patty A is going to have back surgery on June 5th. Carolyn is going to see a specialist at the end of June.

Wednesday evening Bible studies begin at 7:00 p.m. during the summer months. This week we will be in Ezekiel 40 in the adult class.

Pray for Levi and Sadie as they prepare for Saturday's wedding. Pray for them as they begin their lives together.

Sunday, May 31st, is church dinner day. We had over 70 at the Sing 'N' 'Smores last Sunday evening. It was a great time of fellowship.

Pray for our country. Pray for wisdom for our leaders. Pray for souls to be saved through the work of this ministry. "Even so, Come, Lord Jesus."

Embracing Truth. Equipping Saints.

Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family,

1 Peter 5:7 7 "Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you." A couple translations use "throw" instead of cast. The idea is not to place or lay our anxieties on Jesus. We are to throw them, perhaps with little regard for just how they land. Are you worried today? Begin by knowing that Jesus cares for you. Then, in that realization, throw off that care and don't go off to retrieve it.

Speaking of care and worry, continue to pray for Pastor Shaeffer. Please cast this need to the Lord. Jeremy is still in pain and in the hospital. They are continuing to run tests, not merely being satisfied with pain management. Amber tells me a team of doctors were in this morning and have ordered another specific CT. Pray for grace and strength for the family. Pray for grace and pain relief for Jeremy. Pray that the doctors would soon find answers.

Pray too for healing for bone breaks of Suzanne G and Jean J. Carolyn has an appointment at the end of June to determine what causes her lack of strength. Jean W continues to fight back pain. Bev G is receiving chemo. She had a PET Scan on Thursday. On Wednesday evening, Donna G asked us to pray for her 13 year old great-granddaughter who has Hodgkins Lymphoma. Also remember to pray for the grieving: John H in his loss of Mollie and David O's nephew Jim and his children in their loss of wife and mom.

Tomorrow, Saturday, May 23rd, is Spring Work Day at TBC. We intend to tackle windows in and out, lighting, dusting walls, and as many things as we have time and hands to accomplish. A suggested list of projects will be on the back table to help you. Bring tools you might want to use, like a good ladder. We plan to begin at 8:00 a.m. and be done at noon.

Sunday morning I will be in the last half of Romans 13. The title is "Put On the Lord Jesus Christ." Sunday evening is "Sing 'N' 'Smores! A fire will be going in the parsonage yard at 6:30 p.m. Bring 'Smore fixin's or other snacks. We'll have water and napkins ready. Bring your favorite lawn chair and sing voice. Pastor Charlie and Joe S. are going to lead this time of worship and fellowship.

This past Wednesday we began our summer Bible study schedule for Wednesday evenings. We begin at 7:00 p.m. and are done by 8:00 p.m. (The sun is not even down yet!" I am finishing up Ezekiel with the adults. Charlie has those going into 6th grade this fall through high school. Hannah and Annamary are leading the children's ministry (3 years through going into 5th grade). There is a nursery for this hour for those 2 years and under.

May we be thankful for God's many blessings. As our country observes this Memorial Day weekend, may we not forget the cost of our liberty.

Embracing Truth. Equipping Saints.
