This Sunday at Central UMC, our hearts were full as we witnessed God’s grace in so many ways! We celebrated a holy baptism, introduced a wonderful new face to our Children’s Ministry team, and gathered around the table for communion. We also cheered on our Inclusive Connections group, who remind us daily that our church family is at its best when everyone has a place to belong.

If you have ever felt like you aren't qualified or have strong enough faith to speak out and follow a righteous path, you are exactly the kind of person God is looking for. The peak was never for the perfect, it was for all of us to embark from base camp to reach it together.

In this episode of It's Not Complicated Jennie, Virginia and Chase discuss the biblical description of women and womanhood in Christianity. They cover various passages and the apostle Paul's writings to analyze how the text in the bible has been used over time to define gender roles in faith.

Meet Lacy Hampton!

Meet Lacy Hampton!

Today we welcomed Lacy Hampton to our Central staff and church family. She will be serving as Minister to Children and Families.

Lacy is coming from a musical and ministry-lead family, and bringing along her two sons, Alexander (9) and Jack (5), and husband Alex Hampton. She also brings 10 years of teaching experience, and more of various church and service work. She joins us full time this summer, and part time during the school year, as she will continue as Elementary Music Teacher in Rogers. You can meet her this Sunday at both services, and next week at VBS.

She is excited to be a point of contact for families of kids K-6, and is thrilled to have a place where she can bring her kids to work with her. They have been counting down the days! She has been looking forward to having a place to help facilitate and grow together, to uplift the community through music, fellowship, and fun,and get to know the families of Central.

Fun fact, Lacy is starting today, because yesterday she was attending the Arkansas Country Music Awards in Conway, where her band Common Roots (sibling duo) was nominated for Americana Act of the year. The last award presenter was none other than Garth Brooks!

Welcome Lacy!!!!

What a wonderful late afternoon and evening together!

We kicked things off at the Garland campus with hamburgers and hot dogs while collecting donations for the St. James Food Pantry. It was a great opportunity to share a meal, connect with neighbors, and support an important community resource.

After dinner, we headed over to Vine and Branch / Sicaru Coffee for coffee, desserts, and fellowship. From there, we made our way to Fossil Cove Brewing Co. to wrap up the evening.

We thoroughly enjoyed spending time together, celebrating our community, supporting one another, and strengthening the collaborative spirit that makes our neighborhood so special.

This gathering is part of our ongoing Love Our Neighbor(hood) initiative and will continue as a Fifth Sunday event alongside our community partners. We are excited to keep creating opportunities for service, connection, and shared experiences as we work together to love and serve our neighbors well.

Thank you to everyone who participated, volunteered, donated, and helped make the evening such a success. We are already looking forward to the next one!

What a wonderful Sunday of worship and fellowship! It was a joy to gather together, share in God's love, and encourage one another in faith. Rev. Virginia's sermon reminded us that when we begin the climb of our spiritual journey, we aren't called to remain at base camp. God invites us to step out in faith, keep moving forward, and press on toward the summit He has set before us.

Thank you to everyone who joined us yesterday. May we continue climbing together, trusting God every step of the way!
