Mark your calendar for a new monthly tradition at UMCE!

Starting in September, join us for Second Sunday Potluck right after worship.

Join us on September 13 and bring a dish to share (or if you don't cook - don't worry - there's always plenty of food to go around. Just grab a plate, pull up a chair, and jump in to help us set up or wipe down tables afterward. Everyone is welcome at the table!

If you've ever enjoyed a Movies That Matter night at church, participated in a community outreach project, or admired our lovely new entrance sign on Ponderosa Drive, you've seen the incredible heart and handiwork of Bruce and Carolyn!

Between the two of them, they help keep UMCE growing inside and out! Carolyn leads our Church & Society Team, bringing to life impactful community efforts like the Nesting Project and Journey Toward Racial Justice group. Bruce serves on Trustees and coordinates our talented team of volunteer handymen - keeping our building safe, warm, and working smoothly for everyone who steps through the doors. Their dedication is a daily example of what it means to Love God More and Love More People.

Around here, community doesn't end when Sunday worship finishes. Our "Dinners for 8" groups bring folks together once a month over good food, great conversation, laughter and fun. It's one of our favorite ways to slow down and truly share life together.

We had to take a rain check (literally) last time, but we’re taking to the water for our Paddles & Prayers Pray Date this week! Join us on Tuesday from 5:30-6:30 at Evergreen Lake.

This Pray Date is all about getting into rhythm with the Holy Spirit. Let’s connect with God and each other on the water!

Meet Roxie Wheeler!

If you’ve ever wanted to trace your roots or need a reminder of God’s extraordinary grace, grab a cup of coffee and say hi to Roxie!

How long at UMCE: 9 years! Roxie and her late husband Bill visited UMCE right after moving to Evergreen following her retirement, and they’ve been part of our church family every since.

Passions: Genealogy! Roxie loves uncovering family history, connecting with “new” cousins (including adoptees!), and traveling to places her ancestors once lived.

Her Faith Journey: Roxie’s story is a powerful testament to healing and hope. After losing her first husband, Sid, she faced a breast cancer and lymphedema diagnosis. Through it all - supported by her loving second husband, Bill, faithful prayers, and a successful miracle surgery - she experienced God’s guiding hand through deep waters.

Favorite Scripture: Isaiah 43:1-2 - “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine…”

What She Loves About UMCE: “I love seeing how our membership now has so many younger families!”

Forgiveness gets misunderstood a lot.

Too often, we’re taught that forgiveness means putting ourselves back into unsafe spaces, swallowing our pain, or pretending nothing happened. But grace and boundaries aren't opposites—they work together.
Forgiveness doesn’t require you to return to what wounded you. You can hold love, seek healing, and still set a firm boundary.
