We were honored to welcome representatives from the William Julius Wilson Institute at Harlem Children's Zone to Evansville earlier this spring as they explored the work of the Evansville Promise Neighborhood
As one of EPN's proud partner organizations, Dream Center Evansville was pleased to serve as a tour stop and share how we work alongside fellow partners to support children, families, and neighborhoods across our community.
Executive Director John Benton shared, "The New York Times referred to the Harlem Children’s Zone as one of the most ambitious social policy experiments of our time. Their place-based, cradle to career promise work has inspired us to be better, bigger, and bolder in helping Jacobsville’s youth win."
We are grateful to the William Julius Wilson Institute team for taking the time to learn about the collective work happening through the Evansville Promise Neighborhood network and the many organizations working together to create pathways of opportunity for children and families.
