☀️ Summer Religion 2026: Build on Jesus🟥🟨🟩🟦

What a wonderful week of faith, fun and fellowship at Our Lady of Lourdes Summer Religion!

Throughout the week, our children learned what it means to Build on Jesus as the strong foundation for their lives. Through prayer, lessons, music, crafts, games and friendships, they discovered that when we build our lives on Christ, we can weather any storm and grow in faith.

A heartfelt thank you to our volunteers, catechists, parents and parish staff who generously shared their time and talents to make this week possible. Most importantly, thank you to our amazing students for their enthusiasm, kindness and willingness to grow closer to Jesus.

As summer continues, let us all remember the lessons we learned this week and continue to build our lives on the solid foundation of God’s love.

“Everyone who listens to these words of mine and acts on them will be like a wise man who built his house on rock.” – Matthew 7:24

The following is a message from our pastor:

Sunday night, from 7:00-8:00 (Central Time), I'll be offering a talk on Pope Leo's latest encyclical at St Mary Magdalen Catholic Church. It will be live-streamed from their page, but I will try to share the stream before I begin.

Live streams stay on Facebook for thirty days, so even if you can't watch it live, it shouldn't be a problem.

I encourage those in the area to attend in person. We always learn much better when listening to the living voice than when half-attending to a stream while dealing with a million other things.

Every pope's first encyclical is traditionally their mission statement. If we want to understand Pope Leo's vision, Magnifica Humanitas is essential.

But even on its own merits the document is important. Pope Leo is confronting trends much larger than chatbots. I get the sense that what communism was for John Paul II, technocracy will be for Leo.

And God in his Providence raised up popes from countries dominated by each to deal with them.

I hope many can attend, either in person or digitally.
