Our prayer group will begin reading and discussing Greg Boyle's most recent book "Cherished Belonging: The Healing Power of Love in Divided Times" in September. Nearly new hard cover copies are available for $7. We hope you will consider joining us for these important conversations - on the second and fourth Wednesdays at either 12:15 or 6 PM. Please speak with Pastor Delisa about coming to the group, or obtaining a copy of the book.

A description of the book says: "In a world increasingly marked by division and discord, beloved Jesuit priest Gregory Boyle offers a transformative vision of community and compassion. Over the past thirty years, Gregory Boyle has transformed tens of thousands of lives through his work as the founder of Homeboy Industries, the largest gang-intervention program in the world. The program runs on two unwavering principles: 1) We are all inherently good (no exceptions), and 2) We belong to each other (no exceptions). Boyle believes that these two ideas allow all of us to cultivate a new way of seeing the world. Rather than the tribalism that excludes and punishes, this new narrative proposes a village that cherishes. Pooka, a former gang member, puts it plainly: 'Here, love is our lens. It is how we see things.'"

"Rallying Our Church Sunday" is coming September 13!

Our Sunday School children, teachers and families will begin a new year together, using a new, user-friendly curriculum that follows the lectionary, the three-year calendar of scripture readings that we also use in worship.

In addition, the Christian Education Team has planned an outstanding day of fun for our kids - and delicious food for everyone in fellowship (thank you to the Ministry Teams for their support) - be sure to invite your families and neighbors!

AND, our Ministry Teams will host tables with information about their work in and on behalf of our congregation with Christ - and invite you to learn more about them, and join their efforts for God!

Thank you to Wendy for arranging our outing at ForeFront Stadium to watch Loros de la Costa Erie (aka: Lake Erie Crushers) vs the Birddogs this evening. Sadly the Loros (Crushers) did not do well tonight but the fireworks shows following the game did not disappoint.

The Crushers changed the team name tonight as the team was sponsoring support for The Hispanic Fund's Latinx Scholarship Fund in Lorain County.
