ADORATION COMMITTEE AT ST. PAUL MEETING after the 8am Mass on Saturday June 13 in the nursery below the church.
There will be a meeting with Fr. Andy on promoting Adoration in the Parish of St. Paul after the 8am Mass on Saturday June 13th. We’ll meet downstairs from the church in the nursery area.
At this meeting we will discuss what we have right now in terms of Adoration at the parish:
1. First Wednesdays of the month all year long we have Adoration 7-830pm.
2. Wednesday nites during Advent and Lent we have 7-830pm access to the church because of confessions offered at those times (started Fall of ’24)
3. We built a small adoration chapel in the rectory (spring of ’26). This is accessible when the offices at the parish are open.
4. Erika had a children’s Adoration holy hour in Lent of 2026 which was successful.
Also, right now Fr. Paul does occasional Adoration ad hoc when he does daily Mass.
And at this meeting we will also discuss possibilities:
1. To start having occasional children’s Adoration hours. ? Quarterly?
2. To set times when we try to build up having adoration in the main church (? Before or after 8am morning Masses on Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs and Saturday? Could be something where we start after building up a cadre of people who have signed up for an hour/half hour at those times? Frankly we could train lay people to help put the monstrance away since this is completely “legal” and acceptable in the Catholic Church but we could work that out.
3. And possibly, and this would be something I have not run by anyone, put a KEYPAD on the parish offices so that people could go into the Adoration chapel in the parish office building OFF HOURS and target, initially, some times when we would try to fill that chapel – maybe two days a week 8am until 10pm or something like that….WE WOULDN’T PUT THE KEY PAD UP UNTIL WE HAD GOTTEN ENOUGH PEOPLE TO SIGN UP FOR THOSE TIMES AND TO MAKE ALL OF THIS FEASIBLE. I think this would fly better than keeping the main church heated and cooled all winter and summer w a/c and heating costs as they are. AGAIN, we might start the day with an hour or two after the daily Mass and people ARE in the church, and then the hours switch to the parish office Adoration chapel.
If you can make it, we have a few people already committed to attending, but we want as many people as possible who are able to give a little time and effort in order to help our parishioners have the gift of the Presence of the Lord in their lives through Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. Is this a project that seems worthwhile to you? If so, please let Fr. Andy know that you are coming at [email protected].
Peace!!
Fr. Andy
