Good morning beloved,
David was a lad who truly believed in God, he apparently had a close relationship with Him and believed in God’s faithfulness. This governed every aspect of his life including his interactions with a king who obviously now wants him dead, out of jealousy. He is also a very humble man who did not count himself worthy to be the son-in-law of the king.
Because of these, the Lord was clearly with him, protecting him despite the many battles he led on behalf of the king of Israel. The Bible says he had great success and the people loved him so. But, and this is a big but! The king who should be thankful for having such a person in his service was the exact opposite. Rather, he wanted him dead, out of jealousy because of a song that recognized David’s accomplishments.
What is it that should be celebrated in your life that the enemy decided instead to attack you because of it? Do you trust God wholeheartedly like David did, knowing that your times are in His mighty hand. Only He can raise help for you like He did for David in the person of king Saul’s own son Jonathan. Do you know this God personally and intimately like David did? Are you walking faithfully and humbly before Him? Such that, even in the midst of adversities and threats to your person, God is your number one defender, your protector, the mighty man in battle. Thank you O God of heaven.
Prayer:
Almighty God I come before You this early morning and I cry, search my heart and motive, see if there be any iniquity in me. Cleanse me O Lord, make me a vessel of honor, fit for my Master’s use. Empty me of myself, let me be a carrier of Your Presence and glory. Be with me as You were with David, guide me and guard me in all my ways. All these I pray in Jesus mighty name, with faith and thanksgiving. Amen.
