This coming Sunday we will be introducing a hymn that’s not new but a hymn that hasn’t been sung in a while called "The Church’s One Foundation."

Samuel Stone wrote this hymn in response to a theological controversy in his time, and also to offer his parishioners a "simple and attractive explanation" of the Apostles' Creed through a series of hymns, this one being based on the article "I believe in . . . the holy catholic church, the communion of saints" and especially picturing the church as the bride of Christ, for whom he had offered his own blood (Eph. 5:25–26).

How can you prepare for the Lord’s Day tomorrow?

1. Read 1 Samuel 18-20.

2. Pray for the Spirit to help you understand the text, guide Pastor Tony to preach faithfully, and prepare the hearts of fellow church members.

3. Bring a physical Bible, open it, and follow along!

4. Get the needed rest! Gathering with the saints on Sunday is a Saturday night decision.

5. Consider coming a little early and staying a little after. Some of the most meaningful spiritual conversations you can have take place in the margins of time before and after the service.
