Today is World Day of Prayer for the Sanctification of Priests! 🙏

Established by St. John Paul II in 2002, this celebration occurs annually on the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

On this day, the Church encourages priests to prayerfully reflect upon the gift of their vocation. The faithful are also invited to mark this celebration by praying for all priests that they may live lives of holiness and fidelity to Christ and his Church.

Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us and all our priests!

What a weekend! On Saturday, June 6th, we celebrated the Transitional Diaconate ordination of Deacon Lucas Dacosta and the priestly ordination of Fr. Kaique Duarte Santos! 🙏🎉

Keep them in your prayers as they enter these new chapters! We are so blessed to have them serving the Diocese of Fall River! God is good!

Join us in praying for Lucas Dacosta, who will be ordained to the Transitional Diaconate tomorrow, June 6th!

Originally from New Bedford, MA, Lucas originally felt a call to the priesthood in high school. He's been studying at St. John's Seminary in Boston, and has recently been teaching theology and serving as the director of campus ministry at St. Catherine of Siena in Norwood.

Join us in praying for Deacon Kaique Duarte Santos, who will be ordained to the Priesthood on Saturday! 🙏

Originally from Brazil, Deacon Kaique experienced tragic loss in his family during his teenage years, which led to spiritual questioning. After a personal encounter with Christ and a series of transformative retreats, he felt called to the priesthood and officially was welcomed into the Fall River Diocese in 2023.

May God continue to bless him in his vocation of service to the Church and our diocese!

It's Ordination Week! 🙏🎉

This Saturday, Deacon Kaique Duarte Santos is being ordained to the Priesthood, and Mr. Lucas da Costa is being ordained to the Transitional Diaconate. All are welcome to this beautiful liturgy!

When: Saturday, June 6th | 11AM
Where: Cathedral of St. Mary of the Assumption

Young men discerning the priesthood are also invited to a discernment breakfast preceding the Ordination Mass. The breakfast will be at Denny’s in Fall River at 9 AM. Young men under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent. Registration is required.

It is impossible to discover your vocation without good information. What does it mean to have a holy Christian marriage? What do priests do? What is it like to be a religious sister or brother?

Today is World Day of Prayer for Vocations! 🙏

O Jesus, truly present in the Blessed Sacrament, draw all people to Yourself, especially those You are calling to the priesthood and consecrated life.

Give Your Church, we pray, fervent priests to serve at your altar, and holy men and women, who will devote their lives to prayer and service as consecrated brothers and sisters.

May the Heart of Jesus, in the Most Blessed Sacrament, be praised, adored, and loved, with grateful affection, at every moment, in all the tabernacles of the world, even until the end of time. Amen.

World Day of Prayer for Vocations is this Sunday, April 26th! 🙏

God our Father, we thank You for calling men and women to serve in Your Son’s Kingdom as priests, deacons, and consecrated persons.

Send Your Holy Spirit to help others to respond generously and courageously to your call.

May our community of faith support vocations of sacrificial love in our youth and young adults.

Through our Lord Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with You in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen
