"On Holy Trinity Sunday, we pause to reflect on one of the greatest mysteries of our faith, God in three Persons: the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. While the Trinity is a mystery beyond our full understanding, it also reminds us that God’s very nature is rooted in love, relationship, and unity. As disciples of Christ, we are called to reflect that same love in our families, parishes, and communities through compassion, forgiveness, service, and prayer." - Bishop da Cunha

Today marks 30 days until the National Eucharistic Pilgrimage comes to our Diocese! The route, which has been dedicated to St. Frances Xavier Cabrini, the first U.S. citizen to be canonized, starts in St. Augustine, Florida, site of the first Mass to be celebrated on American soil, and concludes in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The 8th grade Mass with the Bishop was a moment for our students to pause, reflect and give thanks before their next chapter begins. Bishop da Cunha led students, families and school communities in prayer at the Cathedral, making it a morning that was as meaningful as it was memorable. Congratulations to all our 8th graders!

According to the National Institute of Mental Health, one in five Americans is navigating a mental health or substance use challenge. That's someone in your pew. Someone in your family. Maybe, at some point, you.

The Diocese of Fall River's Mental Health Ministry, a nationally recognized model, exists so that no one has to carry that weight alone. Through trained volunteer Mental Health Ministers, it walks alongside those struggling with mental illness and substance use, and supports the families and caregivers who love them. It creates communities where the stigma fades, the silence breaks, and people are reminded of what the Church has always believed: that every person is a child of God, deserving of compassion, understanding, and love.

Because sometimes the most powerful thing the Church can offer isn't an answer. It's a presence.

Your gift to the 2026 Catholic Appeal helps keep this ministry alive and growing, so that whoever walks through our doors searching for peace finds it.
