The National Eucharistic Pilgrimage arrives in our diocese on June 29-30, bringing Mass, processions and adoration to Easton, New Bedford and Fall River as part of its 2,200-mile journey from St. Augustine to Philadelphia. A Father's Day message from Bishop da Cunha:

On this Father’s Day, we give thanks for all fathers and father figures whose love, sacrifice, and guidance help shape our families and communities. The USCCB offers some wonderful intercessions as we recognize this important day for families across our Diocese. Perhaps on this Father’s Day, you will set aside some time for prayer and contemplation? They include:

🙏For fathers: Heavenly Father, please bless all fathers with wisdom, strength, and a steadfast faith. Through the example of St. Joseph, help them to love, protect, and guide their families with patience, humility, and generosity. We pray to the Lord.

🙏For expectant fathers: May they find courage in the example of St. Joseph, as they prepare to love, protect, and provide for their child. We pray to the Lord.

🙏For all priests: That through the intercession of St. Joseph, they will be filled with the wisdom, understanding, and strength they need to follow in the footsteps of Jesus. We pray to the Lord.

🙏For all married couples struggling to have a child: May the Lord grant them peace and comfort. We pray to the Lord

🙏For all those longing to welcome a child through adoption. May the Lord guide their journey and grant them peace along the way. We pray to the Lord.

🙏For fathers who mourn the loss of a child. May they find peace and consolation in the heart of God the Father. We pray to the Lord.

All are welcome! On June 29, the Diocese of Fall River will welcome the National Eucharistic Pilgrimage for the New Bedford Eucharistic Procession. The procession begins at Our Lady of the Assumption Parish, then stops at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish at St. James Church, where Father Germán Correa will greet the pilgrimage and welcome the faithful, before concluding at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish. The day continues with Mass and an Evening of Encounter & Adoration at Our Lady of Mount Carmel. The procession begins at 6:15 PM. Come be part of this historic moment for our diocese! The countdown is on!

When Danielle Schmitz said yes to becoming a Perpetual Pilgrim two summers ago, she had no idea how much that walk would change her. Mile after mile, carrying the Eucharist through towns and cities across the country; she found her faith deepened in ways she never expected. Now, that same Pilgrimage is making its way to us.

On June 29th & 30th, the National Eucharistic Pilgrimage arrives in the Diocese of Fall River, and you don't have to walk a thousand miles to have an encounter like Danielle's. Just show up. Bring your family. Bring your parish. Spend an hour in adoration. Let Jesus meet you exactly where you are. This is history in the making, and we get to be a part of it. Will you answer the call?

At every Mass, our priests echo the words of Christ: “Peace be with you.” But true peace is not just a greeting—it is a mission that starts within each of our hearts.

This year’s Annual Catholic Appeal reminds us that we are all called to be instruments of God's harmony. Our priests lead the way by serving the vulnerable, but they cannot do it alone.
