So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.

He is a good God. He hasn’t failed you yet and He never will. Soak in that truth today and trade His peace for any chaos you feel.

Yes Lord! More of You, less of me.

Yes Lord! More of You, less of me.

Father, I stand before You in the quiet of this new day, holding out my empty jar. I confess my tendency to rely on my own strength, but today I choose to be hollowed out so that I might be filled by You. Lord, pour Your grace into every crack and corner of my heart. I surrender my worries and my need to know the end from the beginning. May Your love be the only thing that sustains me. I am Yours, and I am listening.

“He satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.” - Psalm 107:9

Father, I come to You with hands that are weary from holding on so tight. I have carried these worries like they were my own to solve, forgetting that I was never meant to bear the weight of the outcome. Lord, I am choosing to breathe today. I am lifting every silent petition, every anxious thought, and every "what if" up to You.

Like seeds scattered on the wind, I release them into Your hands, trusting that You know exactly where they need to land. I surrender my need to see the growth before I trust the Sower. My heart is quiet now, resting in the truth that You are already in my tomorrow, tending to the things I cannot reach. I leave them with You, Father, knowing Your timing is perfect and Your love is sure.

Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. : 1 Peter 5:7

Peace! Be still! The Lord called out to rebuke the wind and calm the sea.

As I read those words in Mark 4:39, I couldn’t help but see Jesus calling out to me with those same three words.

Peace! Be Still!

To my heavy heart.

To my anxious soul.

To my fretting.

To my anger.

To my complaining.

To my wandering.

To my struggle for control.

To my overwhelming fear.

Peace! Be still! The Lord calls out to me. Over and over again.

With those three words, the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. (Mark 4:39)

Could you use a great calm too, friend? Close your eyes, take a deep breath in and picture Jesus calling out to you, "Peace! Be Still!" Then, feel the great calm of Jesus pour over you. Open yourself up to who Jesus is and what He is willing to do for you. Remember the power He holds and the promises He keeps. Nothing is too great for Jesus to rebuke and bring peace over.

Peace! Be Still, my friends.

Jesus is speaking about the spiritually poor, here. The Amplified Bible puts it this way,

Matthew 5:3 AMP
[3] “Blessed [spiritually prosperous, happy, to be admired] are the poor in spirit [those devoid of spiritual arrogance, those who regard themselves as insignificant], for theirs is the kingdom of heaven [both now and forever]. [Luke 6:20-23]

When we realize how holy and perfect God is, we see ourselves as insignificant and needy. God can then mold us and make us more like Him.
Read the Word. Be blessed today.

Hard things have a way of finding us. No matter how carefully we map it out, there are moments when life takes us off-road—away from the neat, tidy path we imagined and into unfamiliar, uncomfortable terrain. It is there, in those rugged places, that suffering and pain often become our unexpected companions.

Even those who teach, encourage, and write about faith are not exempt. There are days when doubt whispers, fear lingers, and worry fills the pages of our stories. The off-road places reveal what we often try to hide—that faith is not the absence of struggle, but the presence of God within it.

God never promised a life of ease. There was no guarantee of roads lined with comfort or days filled only with happiness. Instead, He points us toward a greater hope. He points us to a future where heaven’s streets are paved with gold, and we will walk with Jesus face to face —a reminder that what awaits us is far greater than what we endure.

Still, we forget. We forget that He told us life would sometimes be messy and hard.

Yet it is in the hard that something holy is formed.
