June 19, 1865.
The last enslaved people in America learned what had already been declared true... they were free.

Juneteenth is a day to remember that God came in Jesus Christ to set us free from all that binds us, including the systems of oppression and dehumanization we create.

We celebrate today with gratitude for those who carried this story forward, with honest acknowledgment of how far we still have to go, and with a commitment to upholding the dignity and belonging of every person.

Our partner church board met in person tonight for dinner and our summer meeting. Grateful for the representation and support of Eastminster Presbyterian Church East Lansing, The Presbyterian Church of Okemos, First Presbyterian Church of Holt, Mason First Presbyterian Church, North Westminster Presbyterian Church, Lansing First Presbyterian! Thank you all!

June 1 marks the start of Pride Month and for UKirk full inclusion of our LGBTQIA+ siblings is a vital part of who we are and what we believe every day. Our UKirk community is made stronger and more complete by the active leadership and full participation of LGBTQIA+ people on our board, in our alumni ranks, and among our current students. We are proud to be a More Light Campus Ministry!

Cost is $20 per player and there will also be a dessert auction, a 🍕 or two up for bids and a other ways to add to our fun(d)raising totals and your score during the night.
