Summer Highlights ☀️ | Part 3 of 3
Our GreenHouse summer wasn’t just about the big trips—it was all the little moments in between. 💚 From big community events to spontaneous adventures, here are a few of our favorite moments from the summer:
1. Summer Kickoff ☀️🏆🍦
We kicked off the summer with a little friendly competition, King of the Hill style! Teams competed in a variety of games, including a drawing game, bocce ball, 9 Square, and pickleball. After battling it out, one team was crowned the winner and took home Dairy Queen gift cards!
2. Prayer + Worship Night 🔥🎶
We spent an evening worshiping and praying together, taking advantage of New Hope’s big property and using their walking trails to connect with God in nature. We finished the night around the bonfire with s’mores.
3. Clue Night 🔎
Our Emerging Young Pros took on a life-sized game of Clue, complete with a potluck dinner, mini games, and people dressing up as their favorite characters.
4. East Lansing Food Crawl 🌮🍦
The Established Young Pros spent an evening making their way around East Lansing one bite at a time! The lineup included fried mac & cheese bites from Conrad’s, tacos from Barrio, Cosmik Fries from HopCat, and ice cream from Eiffel Waffle.
5. A Day at Lake Michigan 🌊
A summer wouldn’t be complete without a trip to Lake Michigan! We spent the day enjoying the beach, delicious food, and some good company.
6. GH Fun Night: The Price Is Right 💰
The staff team put our GreenHousers’ price-guessing skills to the test with a full-on Price Is Right night—complete with Noah as our very own Bob Barker, Contestants’ Row, six different games, and a Showcase Showdown. We learned one very important thing: GreenHousers are… not great at guessing prices. 😂
7. GH Fun Night: The Escape Room + Putt-putt 🧩⛳️
For our second staff-hosted Fun Night, the Hindys turned the lounge into a Pharaoh-inspired, 10 Plagues-themed escape room! Most groups were unsuccessful in escaping, but one determined team managed to escape—with a little help from a five-minute time extension. The favorite clue of the night was an art exhibit featuring photos of the staff edited into Egyptian settings with boils on their faces. 😂 As a secondary activity that evening, we also had a homemade putt-putt course with ridiculous obstacles throughout the building.
And those are just the moments we happened to get pictures of! There were also plenty board games, bowling nights, a trip to Gizzard Fest, movie marathons, an epic game of Spoons, Evan falling into wet cement… and countless other spontaneous, grassroots GreenHouse moments that made this summer special.
From the big adventures to ordinary nights together, we’re so thankful for a summer full of good people, lots of laughs, and opportunities to grow closer to God and each other. 💚
Can’t wait for many more this fall! 🍂
