Jesus does not bless those who merely wish for peace.

Jesus blesses the peacemakers.

Peacemaking requires courage. It calls us to stand with those who are hurting, seek justice where there is inequity, and work toward reconciliation in our communities.

As followers of Christ, we are called not only to hope for a more peaceful world, but to help build it.

"Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God." -Matthew 5:9

Joy is not simply a feeling. It is a way of living that flows from knowing we belong to God.

As we gather for worship today, may our gratitude overflow into acts of kindness, compassion, and service. May we carry the joy we experience in worship into the world God loves.

The ELCA has received a $1.2 million grant from Lilly Endowment Inc. through its initiative Hope After the Storm: Capacity Building for Faith-Based Disaster Relief Organizations.

The grant will enable Lutheran Disaster Response to strengthen its capacity to support communities through sustained, long-term recovery.

LDR’s work — in both domestic and international settings — is focused on its commitment to accompany communities through the full recovery process, remaining long after a disaster occurs.

Through this grant, LDR will strengthen its work in domestic settings by focusing on two areas that are essential to sustaining its long-term approach to disaster recovery: expanding its emotional and spiritual care capacity and strengthening sustainable donor engagement for long-term recovery needs.

The next monthly food distribution for residents of the DeSoto and Sunrise School Districts and Richwoods, MO is on Saturday, June 13 from 9 am to Noon. If you have not signed up in March, April or May, please bring your documentation to signup in order to get food this month. Message us for what is needed.
We have fresh eggs, produce, snacks, gelato, frozen meats & more, bread, a nice variety of locally donated canned goods and shelves of "your choice" food and non-food items.
