October is Pastor Appreciation Month!

And Open Bible, we believe Ministers Matter. This month, let’s put that value into action by intentionally, honoring and blessing the pastors who faithfully pray, lead, preach, serve, and care for others.

A note of encouragement. A special gift. A night away. A meal. A prayer. Whatever you choose, let your pastors, and their families know they are seen, valued, loved, and appreciated.

“Hold them in the highest regard in love because of their work.” 1 Thess. 5:13

🇺🇸 Today we celebrate 250 years of God’s faithfulness.

As we gather with family and friends this Independence Day, we pause to give thanks for the freedoms we enjoy, the sacrifices that made them possible, and the countless blessings God has poured out on our nation.

Our hope is not ultimately in a flag or a government, but in the Lord who guides the hearts of people and nations. May we continue to seek Him, honor Him, and be a light in our communities.

“Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord.” — Psalm 33:12

Happy Fourth of July! 🇺🇸

Join Us in Helping Venezuela

On June 24, two powerful earthquakes (7.2 and 7.5 magnitude) struck La Guaira and Caracas, Venezuela, leaving devastating destruction in their wake. The death toll continues to rise, with over 1,700 lives lost, more than 5,000 injured, and thousands displaced from their homes.
Emergency teams are working around the clock, and international aid is arriving to support local efforts. Thousands remain missing, with families desperately searching for loved ones. This tragedy strikes a nation already weakened by years of economic and political hardship, putting even more strain on an overwhelmed healthcare system.

Will you join us in providing immediate support — medical supplies, food, and clean water for the people of Venezuela in their time of desperate need?

Last week, we gathered for a retirement luncheon to honor Brian Ehlers on his final day in the office as Secretary/Treasurer of Open Bible Churches.

Brian has served Open Bible faithfully in many ways over the years, from pastoring, to serving in the East Region office, to finishing well in his role at the national office. His steady leadership, pastor’s heart, wisdom, and care for people have made a lasting impact across our movement.

Brian, thank you for your years of faithful service and for the many ways you have invested in Open Bible Churches. We are grateful for you and pray God’s continued blessing over you and your family in this next season.

This week, we also celebrate Krystal Hammer as she officially begins her role as the new Secretary/Treasurer of Open Bible Churches. We are excited for the gifts, leadership, and heart she brings to this important role and look forward to all God will do in this new season.

This Pentecost Sunday, we celebrate the outpouring of the Holy Spirit — the moment the Church was empowered to carry the Gospel to the world.

At Open Bible Churches, we continue to believe that the Holy Spirit is still moving, still empowering, and still transforming lives today.

May we be people marked by His presence, led by His voice, and bold in sharing the hope of Jesus.

“And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit…” — Acts 2:4

The Church Multiplication Collective of Open Bible Churches held its 2nd annual Discernment Training this week in Des Moines, gathering church planters as they prayerfully explore God’s call to plant thriving churches that transform communities.

CMC exists to identify, equip, and empower leaders to move from vision to launch and beyond through training, coaching, resources, and community. We’re grateful for the leaders who are saying yes to the call and taking the next step toward reaching people far from God.
