Praise God that the food sent by ME last month is being actively distributed to people in the Cuba. Hope is being delivered by God’s people in the form of soup mix, chicken, Beans, Oat Flour, and peaches. These images show recipients of both food and the tangible goodness of God. Please continue to pray for Cuba. Pray for health to flow and for hope to grow! Pray for God’s “goodness and mercy to pursue His people all of the days of their lives.”

We are really thankful to get to be in partnership with Gleanings for the Hungry and also be able to get our chicken with Costco .

Thanks again to Christian Assembly Church for helping get this shipment directly to our brothers and sisters in Cuba!

Praise God that the food sent by ME last month is being actively distributed to people in Cuba. Hope is being delivered by God’s people in the form of soup mix and peaches. These images show recipients of both food and the tangible goodness of God. Please continue to pray for Cuba. Pray for health to flow and for hope to grow! Pray for God’s “goodness and mercy to pursue His people all of the days of their lives.” (Psalm 23 v. 6)

From the rubble, something beautiful has risen!

We are overjoyed to celebrate the official dedication of the new Iglesia de la Biblia Abierta - Centro HistĂłrico in Havana, Cuba!

When Pastor Jared and Norma first began this journey, the building they started with was completely run-down, neglected, and forgotten. But God specializes in redemption. Through faith, hard work, and love, what was once in ruins has been completely saved and transformed into a beautiful house of worship. It is a stunning, living picture of God’s power to restore and renew!

We at Mission Esperanza are deeply honored to invest with this ministry and be able to provide assistance in funding the remodel. Please join us in celebrating and praying for Pastor Jared, Norma, and their congregation. We pray that God abundantly blesses them, pours out His favor, and uses this beautiful new space as a beacon of hope and redemption for the entire community.

We are excited by the partnership that between Iglesia de la Biblia Abierta - Centro HistĂłrico and Village Church Burbank.

Good news! 🎉🙌
The container shipped from Gleanings for the Hungry at the end of July has safely arrived in Cuba!

After almost two months of God’s favor in transport, the doors of the container were opened in Cuba.

Its contents of soup mix, dried peaches / nectarines, black beans, canned chicken and other products were unloaded. People from the Open Bible churches carried boxes off of pallets with Christmas-morning smiles on their faces.

Please pray for the food and supplies to go to those in need of physical nourishment, and for God to nourish their spirits with His incredible, faithful love.

ME is already preparing the contents of the next container! Thank you for your support as we come alongside the people of Cuba as God's capital "C" Church.

This is the container that we were blessed to get to send in partnership with Christian Assembly Church and Gleanings for the Hungry. Thank you to all who have been so influential in sending this container full of life giving products.

THE CASA DE DIOS IN BAUTA, CUBA IS OFFICIALLY DEDICATED! ✅🙏

With construction completed in July of 2026, the ME team was able to witness a multi-generational dedication service last week.

Pastor Saul spoke about how this project came to be from start to finish, and thanked the construction team for their hard work. Praise was offered up to the Lord Jesus in forms of singing, dancing and powerful preaching.

We want to deeply thank Clear Lake Open Bible Church for their support and partnership with this project. Also, we thank you Pastor David Moreno (and Iglesias de las Biblia Abierta en Cuba) for his leadership and vision for this project and ministry.

David Bethany presented a plaque of dedication stating: “Dedicated with love and Christian unity.” May this building continue to be used in God’s service to draw his sons and daughters to him, for His glory and our good.

Mission Esperanza, in partnership with Open Bible Churches of Cuba, hosted its fourth annual Pastors’ Conference last week in Guanajay, Cuba.

Pastors David and Rebeca Moreno graciously hosted this special gathering of 400 ministry leaders from across the island. Guest speakers included Pastors Marcelo and Bernarda Rodriguez from Costa Rica; Burliss Parker, Open Bible Global Missions’ missionary to Cuba; Pastor Jorge Urra from Florida; and Cuban pastor Noriel Morales.

The presence of the Holy Spirit was evident throughout three powerful days of worship, teaching, fellowship, and breakout sessions. Gathering together—feeling known, strengthened, and encouraged—was a beautiful picture of the Kingdom of God.

Even the power outages could not silence the singing or declarations of praise!

Dave Bethany, Jesse Correll and our Mission Esperanza team returned home deeply encouraged by the faith, perseverance, and hope of Cuba’s pastors and ministry leaders as they faithfully carry the good news of Jesus Christ to their churches and communities across the nation.

HOPE HAS BEEN LOADED!

We are excited to announce that a 40 ft. container filled with 750,000 servings of dried soup mix, dried peaches, chicken, and oat flour has been loaded and is ready to leave port in Jacksonville, FL.

The ship that the container is on is the Crowley Quetzal.

Pray with us that the food can reach Cuba safely, and that the food can open doors for Jesus to move amongst our brothers and sisters in Cuba.

BIG NEWS!
We are thrilled to welcome our new Ministry Director, Jesse Correll! Jesse and his wife Elisabeth answered God's call into full-time ministry when they moved to Gleanings for the Hungry in Dinuba, CA in 2019. They began serving on staff in 2020, and faithfully served there for seven years - including time on their board. Now, God has called them - along with their children Asher, Ruby, and Evangeline - to Burbank, CA and the Mission Esperanza family.

Jesse's prior ministry equipped him with deep expertise in preparing and shipping the dried soup mix that feeds children and families in Cuba for Mission Esperanza's Feeding Programs - along with a network of meaningful relationships. We are so grateful for what God is doing and can't wait to see what's ahead. Please join us in giving the Correll family a warm welcome to our ministry family!

Yesterday evening, Dave Bethany's daughter, Alyssa, safely arrived in Havana, Cuba, where she will spend the next two weeks serving alongside the Open Bible Churches throughout western Cuba.

During her time in Cuba, Alyssa will visit and fellowship with many Open Bible pastors while participating in ministry to communities across the region. She desires to gain a deeper understanding of the daily challenges our brothers and sisters in Cuba face.

Please join us in praying for Alyssa's safety, health, and strength throughout her journey. Pray that God would guide every conversation, bless every ministry opportunity, deepen the relationships she builds, and continue to work powerfully through the local Church in Cuba.

After weeks of hard work, prayer, and perseverance, the new community center in Bauta, Cuba is complete.

This project was made possible through the incredible generosity of Pastor Adam Henaman and Clear Lake Open Bible Church, whose faithful support provided the funding to bring this vision to life.

This building is far more than concrete and block. It is a place where families will know they can come for a warm meal, needed medication, a listening ear, and the hope found in Christ. It will serve as a beacon of hope for the entire Bauta community for years to come.

What makes this accomplishment even more remarkable is that our team, alongside our Cuban brothers and sisters, braved the intense heat and humidity to complete this project in less than one month. Their dedication, sacrifice, and servant-hearted spirit made this vision a reality.

Our team has returned home but our prayers remain in Bauta. We pray this community center becomes a place where Feeding Families, Training Leaders, Building Communities, and Bringing Light are not just programs, but a way of life. May this building continue to strengthen the local church, serve those in need, and be a lasting testimony of God's faithfulness for generations to come.

Thank you to everyone who prayed, gave, and made this project possible. Together, we are building more than buildings, we are building hope.
