The Central Region of Open Bible Churches is a network of over 75 churches and over 225 ministers in MN, WI, IA, IL, MO, KS, AR, OK, and TX.

Open Bible Churches’ mission is-

“Making and releasing disciples, planting churches, and sending missionaries.”

Central Region Open Bible Churches’ strategy is to focus on the following three areas:

Leadership development is our foundational strategy which is vital to accomplishing the next two strategies. God calls leaders to be lifelong learners through person

al mentoring, continuing education, and accountability. The Health of the Church
Church resourcing provides opportunity to invest in local church leaders and ministries through empowering events, coaching and consultations, and walking leaders and churches through transition phases so they can grow to the next level. The Harvest of Communities
Church planting is about multiplying our mission beyond our territory. We are building a multiplication movement that will move people and resources to the areas where God opens the doors for kingdom advancement. Our regional leadership team is ready to serve our leaders and churches with coaching and consultations as well as through our conferences and leadership summits to put both feet and fire to these strategies throughout the region.

Sunday we were at First Open Bible in Des Moines, IA to present a Ministerial Credential to TJ Vasquez, Youth Pastor at First Church and Ordination to Josh Moede, Administrator at First Church! Welcome TJ to our Open Bible ministerial team and congratulations Josh on your many years of service!

Yesterday, I had the joy of presenting an Open Bible College diploma to Andy Madison who graduated Summa Cum Laude. Andy is now on staff at Simple Church in West Des Moines, IA with Pastors Tom Allen and Brandon Pruitt. He is the Pastor of Young Adults and Next Steps. Congratulations, Andy!

We had the joy of being at Open Bible Church in Pella, IA, on Sunday with Pastors Doug and Rachelle Harris. Robin brought an encouraging word for Mother's and everyone else who was in the house!

It was our joy to be at Faith United Church in Rockwell, IA, to preach and lead the business meeting. Pastors Will and Joyce Hunsaker came as lead pastors when the church affiliated with Open Bible Churches and Pastors Jake and Jamie Ditsworth came shortly thereafter to be mentored and raised up. This is Jake's home church and he was elected to begin serving as lead pastor July 1, 2026! Thank you to Will and Joyce for your leadership and for Jake and Jaime who are stepping into their new role!

Last Sunday I had the privilege of delivering the church health report to Praise Community Church in Mason City, IA. Pastor Jeff and Jani Dahlin brought their church into Open Bible and signed up for REFRESH, a ministry of Central Region to assess a church's health and to outline the steps that will improve the health of the local church. This new church to Open Bible had high health scores, but they want to go higher and further in kingdom impact!

Sunday, April 12, we had the joy of being with Community Chapel in Des Moines, IA with Pastors Doug and Sheri Rohrer. They are approaching their one year anniversary as pastors and doing a wonderful work just west of the fairgrounds. I preached a post-Easter message called "Eyes Wide Open".
