Open Bible Central The Central Region of Open Bible Churches is a network of over 75 churches and over 225 ministers in MN, WI, IA, IL, MO, KS, AR, OK, and TX.

Open Bible Churches’ mission is-

“Making and releasing disciples, planting churches, and sending missionaries.”

Central Region Open Bible Churches’ strategy is to focus on the following three areas:

Leadership development is our foundational strategy which is vital to accomplishing the next two strategies. God calls leaders to be lifelong learners through person

al mentoring, continuing education, and accountability. The Health of the Church
Church resourcing provides opportunity to invest in local church leaders and ministries through empowering events, coaching and consultations, and walking leaders and churches through transition phases so they can grow to the next level. The Harvest of Communities
Church planting is about multiplying our mission beyond our territory. We are building a multiplication movement that will move people and resources to the areas where God opens the doors for kingdom advancement. Our regional leadership team is ready to serve our leaders and churches with coaching and consultations as well as through our conferences and leadership summits to put both feet and fire to these strategies throughout the region.

Sunday we had the privilege of honoring two of our pastors.
First, we attended Journey Church with Lead Pastor Darrick Young in Urbandale, IA and presented Ordination License to Reverend Ryan Weldon who serves as the Administrative Pastor at Journey Church. Pastor Ryan also serves in the Iowa House of Representatives from District #41.
Secondly, we attended Living Word Ministries International over on the east side of Des Moines, IA and presented Lead Pastor Daniel Martol with his Ministerial License with Open Bible Churches. This is our newest affiliated church in Central Region.
Congratulations to Pastor Ryan and Pastor Daniel!

Sunday we had the privilege of being at Open Bible Church of Belvidere, IL! Bruce brought a great word for the day and then the congregation reelected Pastor Brett Cox as their Senior Pastor. Pastor Brett and Melissa Cox are all in and as Pastor Brett would say, "God is up to something in Belvidere!"

Sunday, July 26, 2026, we celebrated Kingdom City Church's 30th anniversary with Pastor Bay (Mindy) Khanthavixay, Lead Pastors, and Pastor Chris (Mone) Cavan, Associate Pastors! Kingdom City is on the east side of Des Moines, directly across from East High School. Missionaries Mike and Dara Rasavanh brought a greeting from Thailand and we enjoyed great worship, a warm welcome, and a vision to multiply from Pastor Bay! Congratulations Kingdom City!

Dr. Luke has completed a Master's and Doctorate Degree with Liberty University but continues to be a lifelong learner. Congratulations, Dr. Luke Schier!

I had the privilege of preaching in the 8:30 AM and 10:30 AM service at First Open Bible in Cedar Rapids, IA. Pastor Harris and Sarah Holsapple are doing a great job leading this growing church and they asked if I would preach the second week of their new series REWIRED! First Church in Freeport, IL elected Pastor Reece Caouette as their new Senior Pastor yesterday. Pastor Reece and Alicia have served with Open Bible Pacific Region and will be moving this next month with their two children - Maurice and Adeline. Pastor David Grandon assisted with the pastoral vote on Sunday in place of Bruce Pfadenhauer, our regional executive director.
