We would like to give a huge shout out to our donors today! With your generous donations we have been able to serve over 7,262 meals through our Elim House: Homeless Outreach & Soup Kitchen and pass out over 48 Winter Survival Packs so far this year! Without you, none of this would have been possible!
As many know, we are a non-profit ministry who is funded purely by donations. We serve anywhere from 50-70 meals each night we are open, as well as breakfast before church service on Sundays. And since 2020, during the cold months we pass out our Winter Survival Packs that consist of: a backpack, a Bible, hat, gloves, socks, hygiene supplies, hand warmers, blanket, and sleeping bag. We also provide coats and jackets to those in need, as well.
Our meals consist of soup, sandwich, chips, and drink and roughly comes to $6 per meal. Serving 50-70 people each night we are open adds up to roughly $300-$420. But these meals are necessary to survival, whether someone has been homeless or in need for years or for a day.
To create our Winter Survival Packs it costs roughly $50 per pack. These packs are a much needed resource to those we serve. The winter is bitter, and while nothing can replace the safety and warmth of shelter or home, these Winter Survival Packs truly help those in need in our community when they don't have a shelter or home or even access to heat during the winter months.
Without the help of donors, we wouldn't be able to provide these much needed necessities and resources to those hurting in our community.
