Sunday at the beach, Morgan went under and came up laughing. From the dunk to that fist in the air took about five seconds. We're going to be talking about it a lot longer than that.

So proud of you, Morgan.

Pastor Nathan recently preached on prayer at Alive. He shared a vulnerable message about his struggle with prayer and a ground breaking revelation he had during sermon prep for the message.

Prayer can be ritualistic. Prayer can be self-generated. Prayer can be talking to God. But this kind of prayer that starts with us and "goes to" God is only one kind of prayer. Prayer can also be answering God. Conversation that starts with God and goes to us. Will we respond? Will we be sensitive to the still quiet whisper of the Spirit that is living within us (the Church)? Or will distraction annihilate our ability to hear?

Pastor Nathan is going to be preaching again this week on "Equipping the Next Generation." It's going to be a good one. Plan to be there!

Church is at 10 this morning. There's still time.

Modern worship, then a message straight from the Bible aimed at real life. Sit wherever you like. Stay and meet people afterward, or head out after the last song. Both are normal.

If you've been thinking about trying church again, this Sunday is a good one to do it.

Alive meets Sundays at 10 AM. One service, about an hour. Jeans are normal, the lot is big, and nobody will ask you to stand up or wear a name tag.

This past Sunday, Ryan preached the first message in our Revival series.

We need to recognize our shortcomings and depend on God. But that dependence doesn't let us off the hook. We're called to move through the world with real urgency for the kingdom of God.

Revival is the Holy Spirit's work, but He often does that work through human hands.

Join us Sundays at 10 AM.

We were blessed by one of our youth leading communion this past Sunday. He spoke with theological accuracy, poise, and conviction. He comes from a great family and is part of a great church (we're biased). We just want to throw this out there, Alive is a church in which the youth are fully involved. They are not "congregants in training" but rather they are the church!

Pastor Nathan and his son Marky led worship this past week. It was a major blessing to the people at Alive and par for the course for what they are used to: equipping and sending the saints. Yet...
At the same time, this is a rare sight. How often do you see eight-year-olds leading worship during the Sunday morning church service? We've heard story after story of people that didn't make the cut. People who God had gifted with musical abilities, but who didn't reach the high threshold needed for a performance-centric church.
Alive is not that church. We're not saying that we don't care about excellence because we do. Marky is highly gifted, has perfect pitch and is one of our best worship leaders. More importantly, he has a heart that is in pursuit of God and meets the standards for leaders that are laid out in 1 Timothy 3:8-13. But the center of what we do on Sunday at Alive is not performance. It's worship. And worship doesn't "happen" on a stage, it happens within the minds and hearts of believers.

Yesterday at Alive, Allison Garoy preached on "trusting God with what God has entrusted to you." He reminded us that God has given each of us gifts and our job is to be faithful with what has been given to us. Those God calls, he also equips. There's no room for consumerism in the church. We each have to ask the question "how can I contribute to the family of God?"
This is the kind of preaching we hear week in and week out at Alive. Real. Actionable. Biblical. We have a "deep lineup" so to speak, filled with Christ-centered men and women of God who have been gifted to preach. That's why Alive has a "teaching team" and why the preacher isn't pastor Ryan or pastor Nathan every week. Equip and send.
