Home Groups

A main observance in the early church was to congregate in the temple courts and then gather in small groups, in hopes to continue in the fellowship of the Lord. Early Christians used these small group gatherings to praise God and enjoy each other’s presence. This has been a critical component since the beginning of the founding of the church.

These were the practices of the early Christians, the people who had just devoted their lives to Jesus. As a new church they were committed to:

Spending time together, devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching in the study of the scriptures.

Fellowship, gathering together.

Breaking bread together, meeting in each other’s homes to share in communion.

Prayer!

Here at The Gathering, we strive to live out this model as well. The first Tuesday of every month, we meet at CrossRoads Church in the Auditorium for a time of fellowship followed by praise and worship and a message looking at the life of Jesus. On the other Tuesdays of the month, we meet at different home locations in the Daytona Beach area for a time of fellowship, prayer, observing passages from the Bible, discussing the meaning, and sharing how to apply it to our lives.

The Gathering small groups, outside of large group gatherings, help to build discipleship and a greater connection with the Body of Christ. Our small groups lead to intimate discussion and deeper fellowship, as we get to know one another. Meeting in homes is a great way to do that! We have a Girls’ Small Group, Guys’ Small Group, and a Co-ed Small Group for you to choose from and get connected with.

As we spend time together, doing life with one another, we know that we will learn and grow through Christ together, so we can be better equipped to live our lives for His glory. Ecclesiastes 4:9 says that “Two are better than one because they have a good reward for their toil. For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow...” We hope you will join us on Tuesdays at 7 PM and grow together with us!
