“Give us this day our gluten-free bread” - The Lord’s Prayer (Celiac Edition)

May is Celiac Awareness Month. Did you know that The Gathering Place offers gluten free communion (Glutino GF crackers, plus a separate chalice for juice to minimize cross-contamination risk) each week as a way to provide a safe and healthy environment for our friends with Celiac Disease and other gluten sensitivities?

If you’re avoiding gluten for any reason, just let our communion servers know to offer you the gluten free option of bread AND cup.

We also provide gluten free meal options at Youth Group and other church events throughout the year. 🎉

The Spirit has gifted our volunteers and leaders incredible gifts to serve God and neighbor! And we are so grateful for you.

You teach, sing, and pray. You dream and act. You cook, play, and clean. You make strangers feel like friends. You serve front-and-center and behind-the-scenes. You bring the love of Jesus into your homes, schools, work, and out in our community. You are the Church!

Pastors aren’t the only people who do ministry. It takes the body of Christ and the gifts of the Holy Spirit.

Everyone has spiritual gifts that point toward serving others, nurturing your soul, and making earth a little more like heaven.

Today is Serve Sunday at Halifax Urban Ministries! Worship is at 9am. Service projects from 9:30am-11:30am. Kids ministry and nursery available.

We are unable to livestream this morning, but we will record our abbreviated worship service and upload it later today.

Pentecost is May 24 - and it’s going to be a BIG day at The Gathering Place! Here’s what’s happening:

🎁 Testimonies from ministry leaders about using their spiritual gifts to lead and serve

🎸 Worship music in English and en Español

🖍️ Launching a new Toddler Class focused on sensory learning, age-level Bible stories and songs, and every other week there will be Spanish language awareness

All this and more to celebrate the birthday of the Church! Come party with us in a big way and see how the Spirit is unleashing you to lead others in faith.
