The blessing of quilts and kits is this Sunday. Here are a few of the items going from Croton into the world.

They include kits for babies, school supplies, cloth for various uses, emergency health care kits, and quilts.

The Metropolitan New York Synod invites you to join us in person as we mark the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks with a Service of Holy Communion and special prayers at Good Shepherd Church in Plainview, Long Island, at 7:00pm.

Many of us remember where we were on the morning of September 11, 2001: the fear and bewilderment of that day, and of the weeks, months, and years that followed. The attacks touched congregations across our synod — in New York City, on Long Island, and up through our northern counties — and we gather as one synod to remember together.

We hope you will join us in gathering, praying, and remembering those who never came home, asking God to continue guiding us in our faith journey. Bishop Katrina Foster will preach, and Pastor David Parsons will preside, as we pray together and hear again the promise that Jesus will be with us always, to the end of the age.

Good afternoon everyone,
We have some great news! The new heat pump will be going in this Wednesday! It will be at least a 3 day installation process as we need to remove the old system and oil tank and put the new one in. This means though that we will not have AC in the upstairs area for those 3 days. It also means it will be noisy and the downstairs door and room under the Fellowship Hall will be inaccessible.

It is temporary and we hope for a direct process. Once it is completed, we will have air conditioning and heat upstairs and downstairs. There will also be a better dehumidifier system in the basement. Not to mention that we will be a lot more eco-friendly. No more oil tank, so no more burning oil smell! What great news! PJ
