Come Join Us For The Season of Lent

Asbury United Methodist Church will be giving away free devotional books for the season of Lent.

Lent lasts forty days, not counting Sundays, and starts on Ash Wednesday and ends on Holy Saturday. The forty days represents the time Jesus spent in the wilderness, enduring the temptation of Satan and preparing to begin his ministry. Thus, Lent is a time of repentance, fasting and preparation for the coming of Easter. It is a time of self-examination and reflection.

The church is excited to supply this aid to anyone who would like a copy. It can be downloaded using this link:http://asburycroton.umcchurches.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Lenten-Devotions.pdf

Our Lenten Schedule follows and all are invited to worship and reflect with us:

At Thanksgiving It Is Time to Reflect And Thank You for Your Support

We want to extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who has contributed to the Education Building's GoFundMe campaign. Your generosity has made a difference in our congregations goals and means more to us than words can express. Your support, whether financial or through kind words, is making a tremendous difference in the church's reach into the community through the restoration of the Education Building. The church is truly thankful for each and every one of you.

Your kindness gives us hope and strength during this challenging time. Thank you for being part of this journey and helping us take one step closer to overcoming the church's financial need. Should anyone wish to contribute to the GoFundMe at this time of Thanksgiving, you may do so by contributing at this address: https://gofund.me/cd70b044

Please also consider sharing the link via Facebook, Instagram, or other social media sites, to help extend our outreach.

With heartfelt thanks,

Asbury United Methodist Ad Council

The demolition at Asbury Methodist Church has revealed a bit of history the readers of this page might like. The education wing that housed the Play & Learn classrooms used to be a bank, the County Trust Company, which was purchased by the church in 1968 and remodeled and re-opened as the school in 1969. Tearing down the ceiling uncovered lovely skylights from the old bank.

If you want to help preserve a bit of Croton history, please donate at https://gofund.me/cd70b044 All donations are tax-deductible and go directly to the church.

As of Monday, October 7th, we have received $800 in donations!
