The Flowers in the Sanctuary this morning are given by Kathleen Pyper in Memory of Loved Ones.
Monthly Flower Calendar: signups are in the narthex on the bulletin board. Contact the church office for more information & to add your flower announcement to the Sunday Service bulletin.
Calling all Veterans: In honor of Veterans' Day, we would like to recognize all Veterans in our November newsletter. If you &/or a loved one have served, please let the church office know names & branch of the armed forces.
Mission Committee is collecting dignity clothing items to be shared with the Elementary schools College View, Kreft, Bloomer & Franklin. Needed items include boys' & girls' underwear, T-shirts, socks, & sweatpants for students who may have an accident or need a change of clothing. Place donations in the hamper in the narthex. This period of collection will continue through the third week of September. Thank you for your continued generosity & support.
Pizza King Dinner: September 22, at 5p.m. Sign Up in the Narthex. Reservation required by September 20. Don’t miss out on food, fun & friendship.

Calling all crafters! Memorial Committee is looking for quilters or those talented with fabric markers to help restore a quilt Rev. Lowell Knauss has stored that was created & displayed at Grace Presbyterian. As the quilt is more than twenty years old, some of the panels hand drawn with fabric markers have faded & we’re hoping to restore them. Other touch-ups are needed. The quilt will then be displayed at New Horizon. Please contact [email protected] if interested in helping with this.
All Musicians: are welcome to join a potluck picnic at 6:30 pm September 9th in the Fellowship Hall.
Choir Rehearsal: starts back September 9th at 6pm in the music room. Practice will be weekly on Wednesdays at 7pm in the music room.
Hand Bells Rehearsal: starts back September 16th at 6pm in the music room. Practice will be weekly on Wednesdays at 6pm in the music room.
Rally Sunday: Sep. 13th following worship; there will be a potluck style dinner with chicken provided. Bring your favorite food dish to share & wear your church t-shirt! Sign Up in the narthex.
Homeless Outreach Program (HOP) needs are; money for fast food gift cards; (please put in the special offering envelopes marked HOP), bottles of water by the case, non-perishable snacks & personal hygiene items. Thanks in advance.
Garden Beds: If you are interested in the possibility of claiming a section(s) of the raised gardens, please sign up in the narthex. Refer to the August Horizon Highlights for more information.

Birthdays: We love to celebrate birthdays & we don't want anyone to be left out. We will be sharing a list of all birthdays for that month (Sep) on the screen, & we will sing to everyone on the first Sunday of the month. We will use the birthday list that is included in the newsletter. If you're not sure if you're on the list, please contact the church office.
Coffee Hour Treats: are needed to enjoy with coffee Sunday mornings & volunteers to clean the coffee area after worship. Signups are by the coffee.
The Church Library: is outside the coat closet area; reading materials are available for anyone who's interested. Feel free to stop by & check out a book!
Nursery Area: Children of all ages are always welcome in our church services! If you feel your young child(ren) needs time away, you are welcome to use the children's area at the east end of the narthex, or continue down the hall to the church nursery, where we have a livestream of the service, along with more toys & activities for children to play & be engaged.
Prayer Shawl Ministry: Meets the 2nd Monday of the month at 3pm in the Hearth Room. If you are interested in joining, call Pauline Larsen or the church office.
Youth Group: Meets Mondays at 6pm in the Youth Room. Dinner is provided.
Bible Study: Meets on Tuesdays at 2pm in the Hearth Room. This series features The Bible Project, & is based on videos, not a book. Everyone is welcome to join.
Grief Support Group: invites you to join! The book “Good Grief: A Companion to Every Loss” by Granger E Westberg is to encourage & guide us on our journey through the pain of grief. This group meets monthly the 2nd & 4th Thursday at 2pm in the Hearth Room. Everyone is welcome & encouraged to join.
The purpose of the Prayer Trail is to have an area where individuals or a group can go to meditate, learn & discover more about their faith in an outdoor setting. An area where people can commune in nature & draw closer to God our creator. There are maps & devotional items to guide those who use it.
Prayer Requests: Write your prayer requests on the yellow prayer request forms, then place your requests in the Prayer Box located on the table in the narthex. You can email he church office for pray request as well. Requests will be prayed for, but not read, during worship. Request are included in the weekly Virtual Prayer Warrior Chain.
Prayer Warrior Chain: is an email system that quickly spreads prayer requests to those signed up. Participants receive alerts & can offer prayers from anywhere, in real-time. If you would like to be added to our Prayer Warrior list or verify that you are on it, please contact the office.
Horizon Highlights Newsletter Distribution: If you would like to be added to our Horizon Highlights Newsletter Distribution list or to verify you are on it, contact the church office.
The Newsletter Distribution list & the Prayer Warrior Chain list are two different lists.
Please make sure you are on each separate list if you choose to be.
Streaming Services: The New Horizon Presbyterian Church streaming service is available on our YouTube Channel. Service is streamed live Sundays at 10am or watch later at your convenience. https//www.youtube.com/
