Our Council Bluffs Campus serves as a cooling center on days when there is a heat advisory or temperatures are dangerously high. On these days, our campus is open to anyone from 9AM-6PM. Men, women, families, and children are welcome. Animals are allowed but must be leashed and under the control of their owners.

In addition to space to cool off, our campus offers access to meals, showers, basic hygiene, and clothing. Supportive services are available Monday through Thursday. Secured entrance, please enter through the Shelter/Joshua House doors on the southwest side of campus. Please spread the word!

One of the most beautiful things about following Jesus is that He calls us to love people who aren't exactly like us. People with different stories. Different struggles. Different perspectives. Different backgrounds. Love is easy when we agree. Grace is revealed when we don't. 💜

Jesus never said our neighbors would think like us, vote like us, worship like us, or live exactly as we do. He simply said to love them. Not because they've earned it. Not because they're perfect. But because that's how He loves us. May we become known not only for what we believe, but for the grace with which we love. If you're looking for gentle encouragement and practical faith for everyday life, we'd love to welcome you into our community. Receive our FREE weekly devotional filled with hope, peace, and encouragement each week. Everything is linked in our bio.

Thank you for being part of the Mindful Christianity family.

When he came to his senses, he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired servants have food to spare, and here I am starving to death! I will set out and go back to my father and say to him: Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son; make me like one of your hired servants.’ So he got up and went to his father.
But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him. --Luke 15:17-20

Church was never meant to be a gathering of perfect people. It's a place where imperfect people meet a perfect Savior. Every pew holds a story. Stories of mistakes and mercy. Failures and forgiveness. Questions and grace. And somehow, through it all, God keeps welcoming us back. 🙏

“If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us.” — 1 John 1:8-9

The beauty of the Gospel is not that we've earned God's love. The beauty is that Jesus loved us while we were still broken and continues to transform us day by day. If you're looking for gentle, scripture-centered encouragement in your walk with God, we'd love to invite you to join our FREE Weekly Devotional.

Each week you'll receive thoughtful reflections, biblical encouragement, and practical ways to deepen your faith. Everything is linked in bio.

Have you noticed the Free Little Library on the northwest end of our parking lot? This cheerful addition to our property comes to us courtesy of the Girl Scouts who meet in our building. Be sure to stop and browse the books, and feel free to drop off books you think others might enjoy. Let's share the love--and the books!

If you're feeling discouraged today, take a deep breath. You do not need to have everything figured out. You do not need to know how the whole story ends. You only need enough faith for the next step. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.” — Proverbs 3:5-6 🙏

Some seasons are meant to teach us patience. Some struggles are meant to strengthen our faith. And sometimes God's greatest work happens while we're simply learning to trust Him through the unknown. Be gentle with yourself. What feels unfinished today may be exactly where God is still working.

If you need encouragement for anxious, weary, or uncertain seasons, explore our devotionals and join our FREE Weekly Devotional for scripture-centered encouragement delivered straight to your inbox. Every devotional, reflection, and resource we create is designed to help people experience God's peace and presence in everyday life.

If Mindful Christianity has encouraged your walk with Jesus, would you consider supporting our mission? Your prayers, shares, and support help us continue creating devotionals, worship resources, and faith-filled content that reaches people around the world. Everything is linked in bio.
