Last Monday we kicked it old school and did CLU in the hospitality center! It was fun to see how much our ministry has grown in the past two years! Psalm 133 reminds us how important it is to be in Christian community and chase after Jesus together.

Zach walked us through Psalm 121 on Monday! The big point was that we are called to run to the Jesus when we need help. This Psalm gives us the reason for our confidence and trust in the Lord during times of trouble; He doesn't sleep on you, He catches you when you fall, He protects you from evil, and He gives you life. Any trouble in this life is no match for our powerful and loving Father, who sent Jesus to die and rise again to ultimately save us now and into eternity!

The Songs of Ascents are a collection of songs that the Jews would sing as they traveled up to Jerusalem for feasts and holidays, 3 times a year. These songs guided their hearts as their feet moved their bodies on their journey to meet God in the temple. Whether your journey is the drive to church or going into another room to connect with the Lord, these Psalms can help guide your heart into His presence.

In Psalm 120, at the start of the journey, the psalmist asks God to deliver him from a lying tongue and deceitful lips, which reminds us of the ancient sin from The Fall that has broken our world and humanity. This psalm, highlights that we all come from a place of brokenness on our way to the Lord. That brokenness can look like the evil and the strife sin has caused in our lives away from God. But we know this is not our home! We want peace and our true home! So, we set out on the journey towards the God who brings peace and wholeness.

What are you sick of? Leave that sin behind. Turn away from the brokenness. Go get a break for a while in your true home of the presence of God. No matter what it is, we know that there is a Deliverer in Jesus.

Challenge: Listen to these 15 Psalms as you travel to church next time to prepare your heart to meet God.
