Christ Church Columbia We are a congregation of non-denominational believers from a variety of backgrounds. Our goal is to provide a warm, authentic community welcoming all.

We are so excited about the way God is moving in our church! He is restoring those who were broken, refreshing us with his love, and saving those who were once lost! THOUGHT FOR TODAY – September 3, 2026

“The earth, O LORD, is full of Your mercy; teach me Your statutes.”
— Psalm 119:64

No matter what you face today, God’s mercy surrounds us. Take a moment to pause, breathe, and ask Him to guide your steps and fill your heart with peace.

A Prayer for Today:
Lord, thank You for Your endless mercy today. Teach me Your ways, direct my steps, and help me walk in Your truth. Amen!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY – September 2, 2026

Colossians 3:15 KJV: And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.

This verse tells believers to let the peace that comes from Christ guide their choices and to live in unity with others while remaining thankful.

An inner calm and assurance that comes from knowing God has forgiven and saved you. Allow this peace to act like a referee or a deciding factor when making choices or facing conflicts. Be united with other believers as part of the church, meaning peace should govern how the community interacts.

Maintain a heart of gratitude toward God for His grace and salvation.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY – September 1, 2026

Proverbs 15:1 "A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger." KJV

A calm, gentle, and respectful reply can quiet a heated moment. Peaceful words stop anger from growing into a bigger fight and harsh or mean language provokes people. Insults and anger make bad situations worse.

Sometimes, we want to answer in the flesh when we feel that we are ‘attacked’ by someone. When we speak back in the same harsh manner as we are spoken to, it just fuels the flames. When you speak calmly, it diffuses the fire (anger) and helps the other person to calm down.

So, today, put out the flames…speak softly and calmly by asking Jesus to give you the right words to speak. He’s always there!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY – AUGUST 31, 2026

"Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be tested and able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will." Romans 12:2 NIV

It is so easy to just go with the flow and let the world shape our thoughts and habits. But God invites us to something much deeper—a total renewal from the inside out!

When we let Him renew our minds, we start to see life through His eyes and discover His good and perfect plan for us.

Take one quiet moment to ask God to refresh your thoughts, drop any heavy worries, and guide your steps today.

Drop an "Amen" if you are walking in faith today!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY – AUGUST 30, 2026

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:10 KJV

People are God's creation or masterpiece. Believers are made new through Christ. Christians do good things because of their faith, not to earn salvation. God planned these good actions ahead of time for people to follow. Let us continue to do good works…even when we feel that we are too tired or too busy. God isn’t too busy for us!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY – AUGUST 29, 2026

Romans 11:33-36…O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out! For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor? Or who hath first given to him, and it shall be recompensed unto him again? For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever.

Paul marvels that God's riches, wisdom, and knowledge have no end. Human minds cannot fully track or explain how God works because His judgments are too deep to completely figure out.

God Needs No Advisor (Verse 34): No human being is smart enough to be God's counselor or tell Him what to do. God is the ultimate authority and source of all truth.

God Owes No One Anything (Verse 35): People cannot give things to God to force Him to pay them back or earn His favor. Salvation is a free gift of grace, not a debt God owes us

The Source and Goal of Everything (Verse 36): Everything comes from God (He created it), runs through God (He sustains it), and leads to God (He is the final purpose). Therefore, all glory belongs to Him forever.

This passage teaches that when we realize how small human understanding is compared to God’s greatness, our proper response is humble worship, trust, and praise rather than questioning or boasting. HE IS WORTHY OF IT ALL (all of our praise…all the time)! AMEN & AMEN!!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY – AUGUST 28, 2026

"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.” -God speaking to Joshua (Joshua 1:9)

God made this promise to Joshua, but it is also true today for all who have accepted Christ as their personal Savior. So, no matter where you go or what happens during your day, remember- He is always with you!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY – AUGUST 27, 2026

Isaiah 40:31 says, "But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength; they will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint".

God gives new energy to people who feel tired or weak. Waiting on God means trusting Him with active hope instead of giving up. This does not mean doing nothing or sitting passively. It means active trust, hopeful expectation, and relying on God's timing instead of rushing ahead on your own. God replaces human weakness with divine energy. He provides supernatural power when a person feels empty or burned out.

Eagles use strong winds to lift themselves high above the storm. This imagery means God lifts believers above their current problems to see life from a higher, more hopeful perspective.

Life requires both dramatic, high-energy moments (running) and long, ordinary endurance (walking). God provides the stamina needed for both major crises and daily routines. Reach out to Him in the highs and the lows...He is always there!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY – AUGUST 26, 2026

Isaiah 55:11 states that God's word will always accomplish His intended purpose and never return empty. "So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it." KJV

God's spoken promises and plans possess the absolute authority to fulfill themselves.

Just as rain and snow water the earth to produce life, God's word carries active power rather than empty rhetoric. Believers look to this verse as an assurance of God's reliability regarding prophecy, comfort, and salvation. When God speaks or sends a promise, it does not come back empty or wasted ("return void"); it successfully does the work it was sent to do.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY – AUGUST 25, 2026

Psalm 42:1 says, "As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God" (NIV). In the King James Version, it reads, "As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God".

‘Pants’ or ‘Pantheth’ is a deep spiritual thirst, longing, and yearning for God's presence during times of distress or separation. A deer running from danger or suffering in the heat needs water to stay alive. David is saying in this verse that his inner self needs God just as badly as that deer needs a cool drink.

It compares a dry, desperate deer searching for water in the wilderness to a human soul needing God to live. Are you ‘panting’ after God? He is in the wilderness (the world around you) waiting for you to come to Him!
