Being Lost Doesn’t Make You Worthless
Luke 15:1–7 tells the story of a shepherd who has 100 sheep, but one becomes lost. The shepherd leaves the 99 to go find the one.
Think about that for a moment.
The sheep didn’t become less valuable because it was lost.
It didn’t become unworthy because it wandered.
It didn’t become forgotten because the shepherd had 99 others.
It was still worth going after.
Sometimes we can feel like that lost sheep. We may feel far from God, overlooked, broken, behind, or like we don’t measure up to everyone around us. But being lost doesn’t mean you are worthless.
That’s the heart of Jesus. He sees the one. He pursues the one. He celebrates when the one is found.
Your location does not determine your worth. Your struggles do not determine your value. Being lost does not make you worthless.
And when He finds you, He doesn’t shame you for being lost.
He rejoices that you’re home.
“Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.” — Luke 15:6
