Central Christian Church

Central Christian Church Join us Sundays at 8:45am or 10:30am for in-person worship. Central is from a tradition of nondenominational Christians called the Restoration Movement.

Who we are
We are a community of folks just like you in Maury County who live by what the bible teaches. We come from all sorts of church backgrounds and worship together as one body. We are primarily a group of people who share in the mission of Jesus. We come together for community, encouragement and teaching on the weekends, but our services are not the focus of our church. We are oriented arou

nd people, not programs. Our goal is to "make biblical disciples in relational environments." Our focus is on helping men, women and children become more like Jesus to the point they are spiritually mature and ready to lead and disciple others.

In the sermon this week, we examined Matthew 26:30 and the Passover Seder, where Jesus and the disciples sang hymns after taking the third Cup of Redemption. The tradition of Hallel, a collection of Psalms 113–118, was recited to praise God and give thanks for the Exodus.

Central family, our challenge this week is to read these Psalms! As we reflect on the words Jesus sang — when He was mere moments from being arrested, tortured and put to death — may it be our own joyous praise of the Lord — possibly, in spite of our circumstances.

Central family, VBS is in FULL SWING! Kids are successfully rotating through five stations each evening — Bible (hearing the truth of God’s Word), Recreation, Crafts, Apply & Defend (an object lesson to illustrate the concept learned in Bible) and Snack! In addition, kids have begun a Coin Challenge to support this year’s local mission, Sleep In Heavenly Peace (https://shpbeds.org/).

SHP believes that a bed is a basic need for the proper physical, emotional, and mental support that a child needs. The money raised by kids this week will fund a full Build Day to help our local Maury County chapter build beds from scratch to last a lifetime. The beds include mattresses, pillows and bedding when delivered. Our GOAL is to raise $5000!!!

To do that, we have begun a Coin Challenge — which looks a little different this year. Rather than Boy v. Girl, we have FOUR faithful volunteers ready to be slimed according to the most amount collected in their bin! Kids are invited to bring spare change (and bills) to donate to their candidate of choice. The winner will be announced at our Family Movie Night on Friday!

Thank you for sharing your kids with us, allowing us to show them how they can shine bright in a dark world!

Empty Nesters’ Game Night — Friday at 6:30pm! Bring your favorite game and favorite snacks and drinks to share, and get ready for some good old-fashioned fun!

Men’s Breakfast — Saturday at 8:00am! Calling all men! Come for the food, stay for the fellowship, leave feeling fed. And there will be bacon! 🥓

Youth River Trip — Saturday at 8:00am! There’s still time to register and join the crew on a canoe 🛶. Meet at River Rats to float the Duck River.

Cancer Club not just for those walking through a specific journey. It’s mean for any of our church family and friends who are walking through a medical hardship, chronic illness or treatment — or those who would like to offer support for those in such circumstances.

The next meeting is this evening at 6:30pm, and happens on the second Tuesday of the month. You will find prayer, discussion and encouragement. All are welcome!

Here’s a friendly that the Parent Information Meeting is happening this evening. The meeting will take place at *5:45pm* — just before Youth Group. Campers should also plan to attend, as this meeting will cover final camp details, our camp rules, and provide a list of what to bring! Any other pertinent details will also be discussed.
