Have you ever stopped and wondered why Good Friday is called Good Friday?

If you think back about the life of Jesus and the experiences that the disciples were living, they probably wouldn't agree with calling it "Good Friday."

At this point, they had seen their Teacher, their friend, captured, beaten, spit on, lied about, whipped, forced to carry a heavy wooden cross up a hill-while he had open wounds on His back, then nailed to a cross, and suffered greatly before He died.

They were afraid of what this would mean for them, they had lots of unanswered questions, and couldn't see the whole picture like we can now.

BUT Jesus stayed through the beating, the mocking, the spitting. He chose suffering and dying on a cross. For the broken, for the ones who would mess up, for the ones who wouldn't always get it right.

That's why we call it Good Friday, because Jesus willingly chose us, and still chooses us. If you'd like to learn more about the history of Jesus, join us Sunday morning at 7:30am!🖤✝️
