One simple question became one of the most powerful tools for spiritual growth in early Methodism: "How is it with your soul?" ❤️

John Wesley believed Christians grow best in community—through honest conversations, prayer, encouragement, and accountability. His class meetings created places where people could pursue holiness together rather than alone.

This week's Methodist Roots lesson challenges us to think about our own relationships. Who knows your spiritual story? Who encourages you to keep growing in Christ?

“I urge you, for the sake of your family, take the fight into your prayer room rather than your living room…Get ready to go to war for your family. And get ready to see some changes you’ve never seen happen before.” Priscilla Shirer, Fervent

The gospel was never meant to stay inside church walls. 🏞️

When John Wesley followed George Whitefield into the fields to preach, he stepped outside his comfort zone so others could encounter the hope of Christ. That decision became one of the defining moments of the Methodist movement.

This week's Methodist Roots lesson reminds us that God calls us to go where people are—to neighborhoods, workplaces, schools, and communities that desperately need the hope of the gospel. 🙏

Where might God be calling you to share His love this week?

What does it really mean to be holy? ✝️

John Wesley discovered that holiness isn't about trying harder or measuring up. It begins with God's transforming grace. When we surrender our lives to Christ, the Holy Spirit begins changing us from the inside out, producing love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, and so much more.

This week's lesson explores one of Methodism's most distinctive teachings: scriptural holiness—a life continually transformed by the grace of God.

Join us as we discover what it means to receive a new heart through Christ.

Week 3 Methodist Roots

❤️ "I felt my heart strangely warmed."

John Wesley spent years striving to earn God's favor. He prayed, fasted, served others, and pursued holiness with remarkable discipline. Yet he still lacked the assurance that comes through faith in Christ.

Everything changed on Aldersgate Street.

This week's lesson of Methodist Roots explores the conversions of John and Charles Wesley and reminds us that salvation is received through grace—not earned through our own efforts.

Have you experienced the peace that comes from trusting Christ alone? 🕊️
