Jerusalem continues to reveal its extraordinary layers of history, and today challenged us to look beyond tradition and examine the evidence for ourselves. 🇮🇱

We began our morning on the Temple Mount, one of the most significant and debated locations in biblical history. While the traditional understanding of this site is widely accepted, Ron Matsen and Bob Cornuke challenged us to consider a different perspective—one drawn from their examination of the historical, biblical, and archaeological evidence.

From there, we visited the tradition location of the Pool of Bethesda, where Jesus healed a man who had been unable to walk for 38 years, before stepping into the beautiful Church of St. Anne. Together, we sang How Great Thou Art, filling the ancient stone walls with worship. A truly special moment!

After lunch in the Jewish Quarter, we continued to the Temple Institute, exploring the vessels, preparations, and biblical significance surrounding the Temple and its place in Jewish history and expectation.

We ended the afternoon with some free time to explore Jerusalem at our own pace.

Today was a reminder of why we travel to these places—not simply to see the sites, but to ask questions, examine the evidence, and deepen our understanding of Scripture.

The more we discover, the more there is to explore.

From the wilderness of David to the ancient scrolls of Qumran, today took us deep into the history and landscapes of the Judean Desert. 🇮🇱

We began our morning at En Gedi, the remarkable desert oasis where David sought refuge from King Saul. Surrounded by rugged cliffs and wilderness, we reflected on the events recorded in Scripture and the faith of a man who continued to trust God even while fleeing for his life.

From there, we travelled to Masada, Herod the Great’s extraordinary mountaintop fortress overlooking the Dead Sea, where we explored its remarkable architecture and the dramatic history of the Jewish revolt against Rome.

Our next stop was Qumran, the site associated with the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls, one of the most significant archaeological finds of the twentieth century. After lunch, we headed to the Dead Sea for a well-earned float in its famously salty waters!

Today brought together biblical history, archaeology, breathtaking landscapes, and a little relaxation along the way.

Tomorrow, we return to Jerusalem to explore the Temple Mount and participate in the Temple Mount Sifting Project, where we’ll have the opportunity to uncover fragments of the past with our own hands.

Every place we visit adds another layer to our understanding of the land, its history, and the Scriptures we have studied for so long.

Another incredible day exploring the land of the Bible! 🇮🇱

Today, our journey took us beyond Jerusalem as we began at Herodium, the remarkable fortress and palace built by Herod the Great, before continuing to Bethlehem, the city of David and the birthplace of Jesus.

We enjoyed a wonderful lunch at the Shepherd’s Tent before making our way to ancient Lachish, where we explored the history of Sennacherib’s conquest and the dramatic events recorded in Scripture.

From there, we travelled to the Valley of Elah, the setting of one of the Bible’s most familiar accounts—David and Goliath.

Standing in the very valley where this battle took place, we gathered five smooth stones and reflected on a powerful truth: David was committed to the battle before he ever had the equipment for it. His confidence wasn’t in the weapons he carried, but in the God he trusted.

What an extraordinary reminder that faith and obedience often come before we can see how God will provide!

As another unforgettable day came to a close, we reflected on the history, fellowship, and biblical truths we’ve encountered throughout this journey.

Tomorrow, we head south toward the Dead Sea and Masada for another day of discovery in this remarkable land!

Day Five took us into the heart of Jerusalem! 🇮🇱

We began our morning on the Mount of Olives, overlooking the ancient city of Jerusalem, before making our way down to the Garden of Gethsemane.

Here, we paused for a time of reflection, contemplating the weight of what took place in this garden—the prayers of Jesus, His willing surrender, and the events that would soon lead Him to the cross.

From there, we continued to the Western Wall, exploring the fascinating Western Wall Tunnels and discovering the remarkable history preserved beneath the streets of Jerusalem. Walking alongside ancient stones and uncovering layers of biblical history was an unforgettable experience!

After lunch in the Jewish Quarter, we made our way through the winding streets of the Old City, eventually arriving at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, traditionally recognised as the site of Jesus’ crucifixion, burial, and resurrection…..

From the quiet reflection of Gethsemane to the bustling streets of Jerusalem, today was a powerful reminder that the events recorded in Scripture unfolded in real places, among real people, and forever changed the course of history.

Another extraordinary day exploring the land of the Bible, where history, archaeology, and Scripture come together!

Day Four brought us from the shores of the Sea of Galilee to the ancient city of Jerusalem! 🇮🇱

We began our journey south, exploring the remarkable Roman ruins of Bet She’an before travelling through the West Bank toward Jericho and the Mount of Temptation.

Along the way, we enjoyed fresh pomegranate juice, explored Jericho, and stopped for a delicious traditional meal of maqluba!

Our journey continued to the Church of the Good Samaritan, where we paused for a teaching by Ron Matsen on one of Jesus’ most familiar parables and its enduring message.

As the day drew to a close, we made our way up to Mount Scopus for our first breathtaking view of Jerusalem before arriving at our hotel.

What an incredible moment to finally reach the city that holds such a significant place in biblical history!

Tomorrow, we’ll walk through the Garden of Gethsemane, visit the Western Wall, and explore the Church of the Holy Sepulchre as we continue tracing the final days of Jesus’ earthly ministry.

From Galilee to Jerusalem, what an unforgettable journey this has been!

Another remarkable day exploring the land of the Bible! 🇮🇱

Today, our journey took us north into the beautiful Golan Heights, where breathtaking landscapes, ancient history, and biblical significance came together.

We explored the ancient ruins of Tel Hazor and Tel Dan, uncovering more of the history woven throughout Scripture, before continuing to Banias, the ancient site of Caesarea Philippi, where Jesus asked His disciples one of the most important questions of all: “Who do you say that I am?” (Matthew 16:15).

From there, we enjoyed a scenic drive through the Golan Heights, taking in the incredible views before stopping at the De Karina Chocolate Factory דה קרינה שוקולד גורמה De Karina and discovering the region’s rich olive oil traditions at Olea Essence

From ancient cities and the words of Jesus to the beauty and flavours of the land, each day brings a deeper appreciation for the places we’ve read about for so long.

What a privilege to experience it all together, and what an adventure this continues to be!

Another incredible day walking in the footsteps of Jesus! 🇮🇱

We began our morning on the Sea of Galilee with Daniel Carmel Daniel Carmel before visiting the ancient Jesus Boat, a remarkable glimpse into life on the very waters where Jesus and His disciples sailed.

From there, we explored Magdala Experience Magdala and made our way to the Mount of Beatitudes, where we read the greatest sermon ever preached—the Sermon on the Mount. What a privilege to hear those words in the very region where Jesus taught!

Our journey continued to Capernaum, followed by lunch at David’s Harp and a beautiful drive around the Sea of Galilee.

One of the most memorable moments of the day was witnessing baptisms in the Jordan River at Yardenit, before finishing our evening at the ancient synagogue in Tiberias.

Another day filled with Scripture, history, fellowship, and unforgettable experiences in the land where it all took place.

And there’s still so much more to discover!

What an incredible first day exploring the land of the Bible! 🇮🇱

From the ancient ruins of Caesarea Maritima and the Roman aqueduct to the heights of Mount Carmel, Tel Megiddo, and Gideon’s Spring, today was filled with history, fellowship, and the incredible opportunity to see Scripture come to life.

With Ron Matsen and Bob Cornuke leading the way, we’re off to a fantastic start! Some truely amazing teachings.

We ended our day in Tiberias, overlooking the Sea of Galilee, where tomorrow we’ll explore places central to Jesus’ earthly ministry and share in the special experience of baptisms.

And this is only the beginning!

’Twas the night before the tour starts, all through the hotel,
Not a tourist was stirring, all was quiet and well.
Their hats were laid out by their backpacks with care,
While Ido, our guide, was already there.

From Jerusalem’s walls to the Sea of Galilee,
To Jericho, the Jordan, and the Dead Sea.
With water bottles filled and good walking shoes,
We’re ready for adventure and biblical views!
