1662 North side Lord’s Supper/HC with a moveable table.
"The Table at the Communion time having a fair white linen cloth upon it, shall stand in the body of the Church, or in the Chancel, where Morning and Evening Prayer are appointed to be said. And the Priest standing at the north side of the Table shall say the Lord's Prayer, with the Collect following, the people kneeling." - 1662 BCP
The North Side celebration arose from the liturgical reforms of Cranmer and the English Reformers.
Their theological principles were clear:
1. Christ alone is the sacrificing priest.
2. The Eucharist is communion, not sacrifice.
3. The minister presides as servant rather than mediator.
The North Side position represents an effort to ensure that Anglican liturgy visibly expresses Anglican theology conforming to her formularies.
