What a special Sunday in the life of Second Baptist. From the first song to the final amen, there was such a sweet sense of the Lord’s presence as we welcomed Pastor Jeremy for his first Sunday as our Senior Pastor. Every moment of worship felt like another reminder of God’s faithfulness and confirmation of His hand in bringing the Colloms family to Second Baptist.

We were especially grateful to have friends from Ooltewah Baptist Church worship with us and support Pastor Jeremy on this important day. We know their presence came with many emotions, and we do not take lightly the love they have for the pastor and family who have meant so much to their church.

Having recently walked through a season of pastoral transition ourselves, our hearts are with the Ooltewah Baptist family as they begin that journey. We are praying that the same God who faithfully guided us will give them wisdom, unity, peace, and clear direction in the days ahead.

Today was a beautiful reminder that the Lord is at work in His Church. We are grateful for what He has done, excited for what is ahead, and trusting Him every step of the way.

To God be the glory!

What a joy it is to welcome Pastor Jeremy Colloms to Second Baptist! 🙌

Tomorrow marks Pastor Jeremy’s first Sunday with us as our new pastor, and we could not be more excited. We are deeply grateful for the Lord’s faithful guidance throughout this season and for the way He has so clearly led Pastor Jeremy and his family to Second.

We believe God has been preparing us for this next chapter, and we’re looking forward to all that He will do as we worship, grow, and go together.

Come celebrate with us this Sunday as we welcome Pastor Jeremy and begin this new season together! We can’t wait to see you there. ❤️

Our littlest ones may be small, but they can learn something BIG: how to talk to God and listen for His voice. 🙏✨

Join us this Friday for Grace & Giggles, a preschool playdate where little ones can play, giggle, make friends, and begin learning what it means to pray and know that God is near.

It’s a sweet time for little hearts to grow in faith while moms get to connect, too. 💗

What happens when the situation causing your anxiety doesn’t have a good or easy outcome?

Sometimes we pray for healing, restoration, reconciliation, or a change in circumstances, and God answers differently than we hoped.

But Philippians 4:6–7 reminds us that our peace is not dependent on the outcome. It is found in the presence of the Lord.

He promises to sustain us and uphold us with His righteous right hand. And that promise doesn’t stop when the diagnosis comes, the relationship breaks, the wrong goes unanswered, or even when death comes.

Even in the things we cannot understand, His hand is still holding us.

The Lord kept Stanton. And He will keep you, too. ❤️

We’ve shared a lot lately about how God is moving in our worship services. But something incredible is happening all across our campus. ❤️

Every week, 2ND Kids and our preschoolers are growing too. More kids. More families. More opportunities to plant seeds of truth that we pray will last a lifetime.

And behind every classroom, every song, every lesson, every game, and every moment of worship is an incredible team of volunteers who make it possible. Because of them, our preschoolers and kids aren’t just being entertained. They’re encountering the true Word of God every time they walk through the doors at Second.

God is moving in the room with the grown-ups... and He’s moving in the rooms with the littles too. We can’t wait to see what He does next.
