NEW PUBLICATION: KALLISTOS WARE OF OXFORD–A LIFE IN PILGRIMAGE
The Wheel, our outstanding international journal of Orthodox Christian theology and culture, has published a brand new book by Dr. Brandon Gallaher, available in print format or online. Kudos to my amazing co-editors and staff, led by our own editor-in-chief, Inga Leonova.

A searching and deeply personal portrait of Metropolitan Kallistos Ware (1934-2022) by Brandon Gallaher. This book blends memoir, theology, and critical reflection into a compelling intellectual and spiritual journey of one of the most important figures in modern Orthodox Christianity. Gallaher traces his own spiritual path alongside Ware’s life, revealing a thinker marked by freedom, humility, and paradox. Both tribute and challenge, this book explores Ware’s legacy—his brilliance, his blind spots, and his enduring influence—inviting readers into a meditation on tradition, change, and the lifelong pilgrimage toward truth.

Inspired by the work and the needs of The Mustard Seed, the middle and high school Sunday School class recently donated bus tokens to be distributed to those in need locally. The class, led by Presvytera Georgia, handmade and sold bookmarks following the Divine Liturgy. Thanks to the generosity of the parish community enough money was raised to purchase 100 bus tokens!

Be sure you take notes ... an exam will follow. 🙂

The Ladies Philoptochos Society has been hard at work these first few weeks of May, continuing our commitment to serving those in need in our area.

Following our monthly meeting on May 3rd, a dedicated group of women spent the afternoon assembling 154 individualized summer hygiene bags. These bags were delivered to the Harrison County School Nurses, marking our second year partnering with the school system to ensure students have essential supplies during the summer months. Deliveries were made to all eight school nurses during the school week.

This project is part of our ongoing “Monthly Mission” initiative, of providing consistent support to local organizations. In addition to the school system, we supply monthly supplies regularly to The Mustard Seed and Friends Feeding Friends, and we assist Shepherd’s Corner and The Mission on an as‑needed basis.

Our “Monthly Mission” projects are funded by our annual Fall Orders‑Only Bake Sale.
