🧸 We had some very special visitors in worship today!

Last Sunday, during our children’s message, we talked about Jesus’ words in Matthew 25: “I was a stranger and you welcomed me.” We knew that some first-time visitors would be joining us soon, and we talked about all the ways we could make someone new feel like they belonged.

Well…today they arrived. ❤️

The stuffed animals from Shiloh Preschool’s Stuffy Sleepover joined us for both worship services!

Our congregation welcomed them into the pews, helped them participate in worship, and—most importantly—wrote special first-day-of-school notes for their preschoolers.

Beginning Tuesday, our preschool children will arrive a few at a time for their staggered first days of school. When each child is reunited with their stuffy, they’ll also discover a little message from someone in their Shiloh church family cheering them on as they begin their new school year.

It may have looked like a sanctuary full of grown-ups holding stuffed animals today. 😂 But underneath all the silliness was something we hope our children learn very early:

You are known. You are welcomed. You belong here.

Thank you, Shiloh, for loving our littlest neighbors so well. 💛

🌱 FREE (small) POP-UP PRODUCE STAND AT SHILOH! 🍅🥕🌶️

Something has been growing behind Shiloh UMC… literally. 🌱

This Sunday, we’re hosting our first small Pop-Up Produce Stand, and everyone in the community is welcome!

📅 Sunday, August 30
⏰ 12:30–1:30 PM
📍 Shiloh United Methodist Church
5261 Foley Rd.
➡️ Come around to the back of the church, closest to the Anderson Ferry entrance.

We’ll have fresh produce harvested from our gardens available FREE, first come, first served, while supplies last. 🍅🥒🌶️🥕 And yes—some of our vegetables may be a little wonky, because that’s what happens when you grow real food. 😂

But we’d love for you to come for more than the veggies.

💬 Meet some of the people behind them.
🥕 Pick up some fresh produce.
❤️ Learn why we’re growing food and what we hope this space can become for our community.

This little pop-up is just the beginning of something we’re really excited about at Shiloh.

No registration. No cost. No requirements. Just neighbors sharing what we’ve grown with neighbors.
