1 Peter 5:1-11, starts with Peter telling the elders not to "lord over" those in their care, but to be shepherds and lead as willing servants.
Parents can also apply this in raising their children by guiding them with patience and encouragement rather than harsh control or bullying.
As leaders we must live the example, Peter commands us as leaders in the church as well as in the home to be examples to those under our care, rather than acting out of selfish motives. Children learn more from watching their parents' daily actions than from spoken rules alone.
My brothers and sisters this chapter really calls for everyone to clothe ourselves in humility and cast our anxieties on God, because he cares for you.
As humble and trusting parents, and I know it gets hard sometimes, but you must pray for guidance to model a healthy emotional and spiritual habits for your kids.
Remember the devil prowls around like a roaring lion. Parents must stay watchful over influences that affect their family.
Verse 9 tells us that we can resist him if we stand firm in our faith. BE BLESSED
