Sister Patricia Loome, SNDdeN, was recognized this spring as the 2026 Alumna of the Year by the Maryvale Alumnae Association at Maryvale Preparatory School.

Sr. Patricia graduated from Maryvale Trinity College Preparatory School in 1962 in a class with 30 girls. She entered the SNDdeN in 1962 and pursued a B.A. degree at Trinity College, now Trinity Washington University in Washington, D.C. Sr. Patricia continued her education by earning two master’s degrees, one at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA, and the other at the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, CA.

Sr. Patricia served as a high school teacher and administrator for 20 years in Kenya and in a leadership role in a Catholic health system in northeast Georgia for 11 years. Sr. Patricia served on the Maryvale Board of Trustees from 1997-2004 and again from 2018-2025. She has held leadership roles in the SNDdeN congregation, including a five-year term on the leadership team of our Ohio Province.

“Maryvale provided me with the necessary academic background to continue to higher education as well as supporting and encouraging the confidence needed to take on leadership roles in my life and ministry,” Sr. Patricia said.
