New Creation United Methodist Church

New Creation United Methodist Church Our mission is to share the good news of Jesus Christ so that all people become His disciples transformed by His love. We are glad that you are here!

We offer two Sunday Morning Worship services at 8:30 am and 11 am, which are both available live-streamed on Facebook. Whether you are new to Hampton Roads or you are a long-time resident looking for a church home, we want you to know that New Creation is a church whose doors are open to your needs. This is a place to grow in Christ, to receive prayers and support in times of need, to work side by side with fellow believers, and to rejoice and give praise to God for his amazing love and grace!

"We will never forget your sacrifice..." Today, we honor the brave men and women who gave their lives defending our national and its ideals in our observance of Memorial Day. We extend a special thank you to retired U.S. Navy chaplain Cmdr. Chuck Rowley, Lt. Daniel Davison (U.S. Navy), and Gunnery Sgt. Christopher Alvarado (Marine Corps) for sharing a touching tribute to the families who have lost loved ones during their service, accompanied by our choir singing a beautiful anthem commemorating the day.

The next generation does not need perfect Christians to look up to—they need authentic ones. This Sunday, we were reminded that faith is most often passed along through relationships — through everyday moments, ordinary conversations, acts of kindness, prayers, worship, and grace lived out consistently over time.

Long before children fully understand faith, they begin absorbing it. May we be people whose sincere faith points others toward Jesus.

Kids notice more than we think. They notice how we speak, how we respond, what matters to us — and they notice our faith too. This Sunday in Week 2 of our Homefront series, we’ll explore what it means to pass faith on to the next generation through authentic, everyday living.

We’ll also celebrate KinderPrep Sunday as we give thanks for the teachers, parents, grandparents, and church family members helping plant seeds of faith in young hearts every day. Read more here: - https://mailchi.mp/newcreationumc/this-sunday-at-new-creation-10350221

One of the most encouraging reminders from Sunday’s message: Faith is not passed on through perfection. It’s passed on through practice.

Through everyday moments. Through consistency. Through showing up again and again with love, grace, prayer, and presence.

Sometimes we disqualify ourselves because we don’t feel spiritual enough, knowledgeable enough, or perfect enough. But God often works through ordinary people faithfully practicing simple rhythms over time.

Don’t focus on doing everything. Just begin with one thing this week.

Today, we give thanks for all kinds of mothers—women in our lives who guide, nurture, and love us—our mothers and motherly-mentors. How did you honor your mother or motherly-mentor today?

Home is where life happens — the laughter, the conversations, the struggles, and the moments that shape us most. Tomorrow, we begin a new sermon series called Homefront with a message titled The Foundation of the Family. Together, we’ll explore how faith is formed not only at church, but through the everyday rhythms of life at home. Join us tomorrow as we celebrate Mother’s Day and begin this meaningful new series. One of the most powerful reminders from Sunday: God does not call the equipped. God equips the called. If you’ve ever felt unqualified, uncertain, or afraid to take the next step, you are not alone. God’s grace shows up again and again — often right when we need it most.
