Gay is still with us this morning. As you know she is a strong willed individual. But this could be the day God ushers her into His presence. Thank you all once again for your love and prayers for our family.

Gay and I are once again blown away by your love towards our family. Your cards, calls, visits, meals and other expressions of love means the world to us.

Your prayers have found their way to the God who loved us. We continue to trust as we always have that God Who never changes. He is a good, good God. His plan is perfect.

Gay will soon be with her Lord and Savior to abide for evermore. She loves each of you and thanks you for loving her. She'll be waiting for you to check in. God bless you till we meet again in that glorious, eternal, forever home. Farewell for now!

Mid-Week Thought
As we approach this month where we focus on being thankful let me share the lyrics of the world's most popular contemporary hymn.

Give thanks with a grateful heart
Give thanks to the Holy One
Give thanks because He’s given Jesus Christ, His Son

Let the poor say, “I am rich
Because of what the Lord has done for us”

These are the words of a song written by Henry Smith in 1978. Though he composed 300 other songs this was the only one published. Smith wrote this at a time he was struggling to find work after having just graduated from seminary. He also struggled with failing eyesight due to a degenerative condition that led to him becoming legally blind. Upon complete his schooling and unable to find steady work he returned home to Williamsburg, VA.

Smith never lost hope. Hearing his pastor share this verse “For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet four sakes he became poor so that you through his poverty might become rich.”
(1 Corinthians 8-9) he penned the song of thanksgiving and trust. He later called it “Give Thanks with a Grateful Heart.”

Beloved, may we each remember the admonition given by Paul as he penned 1 Thess 5:18 “In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” In the good times and those that might not be so good, Give Thanks for He is worthy of all honor, glory and praise from His saints.

In these days of so much heart ache and pain let this be your pray and let it be your purpose. Let God use you to be a blessing to other. One way to bless others is to pray for them but don't let that be the only way you allow God to bless others through you.

Why is hell so awful? One, it was created for satan and his demons. Secondly, because people don’t realize that hell is the absence of God.

There’s no air in hell...because God is a breath of life.
There is no peace in hell...because God is the prince of peace. There is no comfort in hell...because God is the comforter.
There is no love in hell...because God is love.
Hell is darkness...because God is the light.

You don't have to go there!

But there is only one way to escape it, and that is through salvation in the name of Jesus Christ.
