Mt. Pleasant UMC,

Thank you for your continued prayers during this season of pastoral transition. We welcome our new pastor, Mandy Midgett, who will begin on July 1st and continue to hold Pastor Bob in prayer. We thank Pastor Bob for his faithful service at Mt. Pleasant UMC over the past 20 years.

We look forward to you getting to know Mandy. Mandy is also the pastor of Salem UMC located in VA Beach. She brings a wealth of experience and academic achievement to her pastoral journey. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English with a cognate in Creative Writing, as well as a Master of Arts in Education. She has also completed coursework toward a Doctoral degree in Curriculum and Instruction, aiming to become an Educational Specialist. Currently, Mandy is a third year seminary student at Wesley Theological Seminary, working toward a Master’s Degree in Divinity with a specialization in Children’s and Youth Advocacy.

Before entering ministry, Mandy served in various roles including Children’s Minister, Preschool Director, Preschool & Elementary Teacher, and Medicaid Attendant assisting children with special needs. Her diverse background reflects her deep commitment to caring for and advocating for children and families.

Mandy and her husband, Matt, have been married 16 years and are the proud parents of their 13 year old daughter, Allie. They have two dachshunds, Leonard and Sheldon.

Working in ministry has taught me many things. One of the most important is being able to experience the great gift of church family. It has been a gift to experience God’s love through rich connections. I am humbled to be your pastor and I look forward to meeting you soon!
