Join us this Saturday, March 28 @ 1:30 PM (notice we changed the time) for a hike or bike ride on the Virginia Blue Ridge Railway Trail! 🌿 Experience the Divine in the beauty of the Piney and Tye Rivers.

Choose Your Path and Distance on this out-and-back trail:
🚲 Bikers (Bring your own bike)
🏃 Trailblazers (Fast-paced trekkers)
🧘 Pathfinders (Contemplative hikers/moderate pace)
📍 Start: 3124 Patrick Henry Hwy, Piney River
🍕 After: Pizza at Dr. Ho’s Humble Pie!

All ages welcome! Flat, crushed gravel trail (~3 miles for walkers, longer for bikers).

Tonight's the night! IMPACT's Nehemiah Action

Meet us at Charlottesville High School at 5pm for a Pizza Tailgate. At 6pm we will head into Martin Luther King Performing Arts Center for the IMPACT meeting.

IMPACT is an interfaith collaborative of over 50 local congregations that works on securing improvements in these social justice issues here in our community. The Nehemiah Action is a spirited and impactful meeting where we ask our local elected officials to commit to improvements in the lives of those who rely on public transit and who are in dire need of affordable housing in safe neighborhoods.

An Update from Loaves & Fishes

After ending 2025 with the highest-ever number of people served - 143,728 individuals received food - Loaves & Fishes has launched 2026 prepared to serve 200 households every Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday.

We could not possibly respond to this continued increase without the generous donation of money and time from our donors and volunteers.

Your donations help us keep food from grocery stores from going to the landfill (more than 1M lbs. in 2025).

Using efficient sourcing that includes grocery store rescue, ordering USDA and donated foods and purchasing certain products like meat, yogurt, cooking oil, flour, cereal, and peanut butter from the food bank, and buying wholesale dairy, we are able to be generous to more visitors, while still keeping our expenses down.

In 2025, it costs Loaves & Fishes about $7 to provide about a week's worth of food to each recipient.
