Christ Episcopal Church Charlottesville

Christ Episcopal Church Charlottesville PREACH THE GOSPEL, LOVE PEOPLE, TRUST GOD Each week we hope to communicate the love of God summarized so powerfully by St. God is always ready to listen.

Since our beginning in 1820 as Charlottesville’s first church, Christ Episcopal Church has proclaimed the good news of Jesus Christ. Paul in his letter to the Romans: “while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” This gospel message is for one and all and is the foundation of our life at Christ Church. Because of His love for us in Jesus Christ, we know that God AL- WAYS cares. God wants you

to tell Him everything – no detail is too small. As we read in 1 Peter, God asks that we cast our cares on Him, because He cares for us. We hope this will help you find your place within our community and get to know what is happening here. Please know that we at Christ Church are here to serve you.

On Monday April 27th at 6pm, come to Christ Church to hear 4th Year UVA student and Undergraduate Fellow Jack Ireland present his independent study performance!

This special performance will feature six original jazz arrangements of traditional church hymns chosen by Ireland from the Episcopal Hymnal 1982. Blending the rich harmonic language and improvisational spirit of jazz with the familiarity and reverence of hymn traditions, the program offers a fresh and personal reinterpretation of sacred music.

The arrangements will be performed by a six-piece ensemble including Christ Church’s own Paul Zach!

Admission is free and open to the public.
