The nave is nearing completion, and the chancel is already starting to be tiled! We're so happy with how things are turning out and for the beautiful revitalization of our sanctuary. Needless to say, the acoustics are incredible and we're anxious to hear the choir sing in the space again.

Thank you all for your continued prayers and support. In the mean time, come worship with us in the St. James Center! The sanctuary is under construction, but the spirit is alive and well in the people of St. James. Join us Sundays at 8 or 10 AM.

After a hard day's work, our crew was able to hang our new-to-us chandelier; one of the crowning pieces of our sanctuary renovation. It was handcrafted in the eighteenth century in the Dutch-Baroque style and came to us from a local collector's warehouse.

As a congregation that was founded in the early 1700's, this new edition helps honor our colonial history; which is something that we really wanted to do with this renovation. It looks like it's been here the whole time!

The idea for the chandelier and medallion that it's suspended from came from our vestry member and renovation project manger, Roy Fuller. We're continually grateful for Roy's leadership and his amazing eye for detail. So many things have lined up for this project and Roy has been steadfast at the helm.

All our live-streaming equipment is in and the cables have been run. This week, we'll start on the tile floor! Things are moving along wonderfully and we expect to be fully finished in mid to late September. Stay tuned in the near future for a recorded conversation between Roy and Fr. Will about the details of the renovation, how it came about, and what we're intending to accomplish.

Thank you all for your continued prayers, for the generosity that made this project possible, and for the resurrecting power of Christ continuing to grow and enliven the Episcopal Church on James Island! It's an incredible new season here and we'd love for you to be a part of it.
