Matthew 25 exists to equip, gather, connect, and offer refreshment for ACNA practitioners working in ministries that serve the vulnerable, marginalized, and under-resourced.

There are over 40 languages spoken at Five Loaves Food Pantry. Brother Tim has learned some phrases in all of them.

“I learned how to say 'good morning,' 'good afternoon,' and 'thank you' in Arabic. Well, I shared this story at our synod, and I said, 'Ok, we’ve got 'Sabah al-khair,' 'Sabah Achnun,' and 'Shukran Abuna.'

Afterwards, one of the military chaplain officers came up to me and asked, ‘Are they really saying that to you?’ So of course I'm like, 'yeah, ‘Good morning,’ ‘good afternoon,’ and ‘thank you.’

He says, ‘Well, the first two, you got it right, but that third one, are they really saying that to you? Because it doesn’t mean what you think it means.’”

In M25i work, we encounter women in various life circumstances: those experiencing homelessness, in vulnerable and dangerous migrant contexts, or single mothers and teenage girls who have left violent homes. There are too many struggling and suffering.

Vicky Hedelius entered her REVERB Leadership cohort with a problem: a transition in her organization that threatened the entire operation.

Through REVERB, she gained the tools and vision needed to pivot her organizational goals and focus more on the heart God had given her for “the least of these.”

Embracing Hope, a new project from Anglicans for Life Canada, focuses on a physical and digital memorial space for people grieving miscarriage, abortion, su***de, medically assisted death, and other losses. Through her experiences in REVERB, Vicky was able to envision a ministry where people’s grief could be acknowledged and where healing and hope in Christ could be offered.
