Fall-A-Palooza was so much fun! Thank you to everyone who volunteered time out of their weekend to help everything run smoothly. We’re grateful that we’re able to shine our light in the community. The best part is doing it all together!

Both Jesus and Paul tell us to be on guard against false teachers, both the wolves that come in from the outside to attack the church and those who will rise up in the church to deceive believers with heresy.

How should Christians respond to error, particularly when it comes to foundational beliefs of the faith?

We must recognize error in the first place. Scripture is always our guide to discerning between what is true and what is false.

We must reject false teaching. In 2 John 10-11, John instructs Believers in how to respond to false teaching, particularly when it comes to WHO Jesus is and WHAT the Gospel is:

“If anyone comes to your meeting and does not teach the truth about Christ, don’t invite that person into your home or give any kind of encouragement. Anyone who encourages such people becomes a partner in their evil work.”

That’s one reason why I didn’t take the brochure offered to me. I didn’t want to accept it because I didn’t want to give even the appearance of encouraging this type of false teaching.

Thirdly, we must respond with truth AND love. Truth without love becomes harshness. However, love without truth quickly becomes heresy.

Truth still matters. That’s why we are called to keep speaking the truth in love, keep rejecting false teaching and a false Gospel, and keep sharing the Truth — Jesus — boldly and unapologetically.

You're quoting Matthew 7:1 wrong. "Judge not, that you be not judged” doesn't mean Christians can never speak up about sin.

Jesus was banning hypocritical judgment — get the plank out of your own eye first, then you can help your brother or sister with the speck (Matthew 7:3–5).

So yes — judge. Just judge yourself first. And don’t let others, particularly those who don’t believe in Jesus or the Bible, misuse Matthew 7:1 as a shield against sin.

What's the most misquoted verse you've ever heard? Drop it below. 👇
