RISE Community Coffeehouse is a subsidiary of Seneca Gospel Mission, created to live out our calling to serve others, share Christ’s love, and help people discover hope and purpose.

Through RISE, we provide employment readiness training for at-risk youth and individuals facing barriers to employment—helping them build confidence, independence, and a brighter future.

At RISE, we believe that when we share what God has given us—our time, our resources, and our hearts—we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. We’re grateful for the opportunity to come alongside Seneca Street Church and help provide a meal, fellowship, and a little hope to those in our community who need it.

❤️ Serving Beyond the Coffeehouse

One of the ways we serve outside of our coffeehouse programming is through the Seneca Street Church Lunch Ministry. Each Wednesday, this important ministry provides a meal and a welcoming place for members of our community to gather, connect, and be cared for.

RISE supports this ministry by providing one of our employees to help facilitate the weekly meal, as well as through financial support and providing them with donations of food and paper goods.

It’s a beautiful example of what can happen when community organizations work together. We are grateful for the opportunity to partner with Seneca Street Church and be part of a ministry that is meeting people right where they are.

RISE is more than a coffeehouse. We’re committed to pouring hope and relief into our community—one person, one meal, and one cup at a time. ☕❤️

This Saturday, August 29th from 2–6 PM, come join us at RISE for an afternoon of ice cream, hot dogs, karaoke, raffles, prizes, and plenty of fun! 🎤🎟️🌭🍨

But this isn’t just a party—it’s a fundraiser with a purpose. ❤️

Your support helps us continue providing employment readiness training for at-risk youth and individuals facing barriers to employment. Every scoop, every hot dog, every raffle ticket, and every donation helps us give people the skills, confidence, and opportunity they need to move toward greater independence and a brighter future.

God has a purpose and a plan for every person—and sometimes He uses a place like RISE to help someone discover what they’re capable of.

What a blessing it is to see God at work in the lives of those He brings through our doors. We believe every person is created with purpose and gifted by God, and it is our privilege to help encourage, equip, and empower them to discover that purpose.

Congratulations, Sarai! We thank God for the growth you’ve shown and pray that He continues to guide your steps, open doors of opportunity, and use your gifts for His glory.

Today we celebrate Sarai for successfully graduating from Phase 1 of our Employment Readiness Program!

From her first day, Sarai has stood out as someone who is outgoing, very intelligent, and highly motivated. She brings a positive attitude to every class and has been an absolute pleasure to work with.

We’re excited to share that Sarai has qualified to move on to Phase 2, where she’ll continue building the skills and confidence needed for long-term success in the workplace.

Sarai, your hard work and dedication have truly paid off. We can’t wait to see all the great things ahead for you in Phase 2 and beyond! 👏🎓

For Johnny’s situation, James 5:14–15 and Matthew 25:35–40 are fitting, as these scriptures remind us both to pray faithfully for those who are sick and to care for them as an expression of our love for Christ.

Johnny is a resident in the senior apartments above RISE. Over the past year he gradually lost his sight. He has no family nearby, but is surrounded by caring friends who have helped him navigate each day with kindness and compassion.

This morning, Johnny underwent surgery that could restore vision in one eye. If successful they will do the same with the other eye.

Please join us in praying for Johnny today—that God would guide the hands of his medical team, grant him a smooth recovery, and bless him with renewed sight if it is His will. Thank you God for surrounding Johnny with good friends, love and support. ❤️
