And that’s a wrap on the school year for Holy Name!

We finished out the year bartending at a phenomenal Lionheart on 6/6. The Holy Name was greatful for, along with the Home School Association, being one of Lionheart’s honorees this year.

On 6/10, we hosted the 49th Annual Sports Awards Banquet. Over the last two years, Holy Name has funded all new uniforms for every sports team at St. Mark. We were also pleased to present the O’Grady Award for the spirit of St. Mark to Evelyn Roaldi and Alex Felver; the Hempin Award for athleticism to Reese Pollack and Vincent Martin; and the Sean France Memorial Award to Coach Patrick Doyle. Thank you as well to SMK graduate Mary Doyle for being our guest speaker.

At the Sports Awards Banquet we were also pleased to hand over a check to the Catholic Community of Buffalo, North for $17,000 for new lighting in St. Mark Church.

And finally, on 6/18 we presented the second annual Sr. Jeanne Memorial Award to Mrs. Zadrozny, who was nominated by her peers for her extraordinary work this year.

As the school expands into the rectory, this year's Lionheart is more important than ever.

With over 1,100 meals served this year, it was a record-breaking Lenten season here at St. Mark. Thank you to our tireless volunteers and everyone who helped fundraise for a good cause.

But, we cannot do it without help. If you are a St. Mark father who wants to give back, consider joining Holy Name and keeping traditions like this alive.

We were proud to have Jon Dandes as a speaker at our Father/Child breakfast in 2017. A true pillar of the community and a lovely human. He will be missed.

The Bisons family is deeply saddened by the passing of longtime President/Buffalo Baseball Hall of Famer, Jon Dandes.

We extend our deepest condolences to Jon’s family, friends and the many, many lives throughout the WNY community and in the baseball world he touched.
