Pastor Chris Braye of Liberty Baptist Church in Marion, OH was hospitalized earlier this week. He has since been transported Riverside for emergency bypass surgery. The idea of saying "Happy Memorial Day" doesn't quite line up when we stop to remember why we celebrate today. Memorial Day is not just another day off or another day to have a cookout.

Memorial Day is a day to stop and remember and honor those who have selflessly given their lives so we can enjoy the freedoms we have in America today. It is not a day of celebration. Rather it should be a day of appreciation for their sacrifice.

May we never forget.
