Over the past year, as the world contended with the COVID-19 virus, Linda and I determined to live our daily lives prayerfully, cautiously, and courageously. We have chosen to not only live each day without fear, but also to use wisdom when adhering to recommendations from our health officials. We have prayed for many of our friends, loved ones, and fellow ministers who have battled this virus, as well as mourned the loss of many dear men and women who have passed from it.
Just prior to the Christmas holiday, Linda and I tested positive for the COVID-19 virus. In the days since, we have experienced the many symptoms of the virus that make it so challenging. We are grateful for the excellent care of our physicians and even more so for the touch we have felt from the Great Physician. We have been blessed by the many messages of prayer and support we have received as people have learned of our illness. We are getting stronger each day and anticipate a full recovery.
As you continue to pray for those around you impacted by this virus, we ask that you also remember to pray for our General Presbyter of Africa Stephen Masilela. Bishop Masilela is in his own serious battle with this virus and needs a miraculous touch from the Lord. We lift our voices with thousands of our brothers and sisters in Africa calling on our Lord to heal our brother.
Thank you for your continued prayers. The words of Psalm 89:15, which I shared in this past Sunday’s Message of Hope, are still ringing in my soul, “Blessed is the people that know the joyful sound: they shall walk, O Lord, in the light of thy countenance.” I choose to trust Him and take joy in the hope we have in Christ.
